Live Resin offers a number of different US SOCOM Humvee/GMV turrets and turret operated weapon systems in 1/35 scale. This review covers one of the latest additions to Live Resin catalogue which provides extra protection to your 1/35 scale grey army turret gunners: US MARSOC/Navy Seals SAG Shield with hand made clipper limiter (LRE-35294).
Review:
The set is packed in a typical Live Resin fashion: a zip-lock bag containing the pieces is secured between hard cardboard backings. The CAD box art notes the contents of the set and provides more detailed images of the SAG shield.
The set consists of three identical pieces cast in grey resin. The resin looks really good and there are no imperfections in the cast whatsoever with the details nicely delivered in scale. The set is designed to replace various gunners shields included in different US Special Ops turret weapon systems available from Live Resin.
SAG armor shield is constructed by USGN Inc. using an experimental G-LAM lightweight nanofiber material which is over 100 times stronger than steel and offers protection from up to 12.7mm AP ammunition. The complex shape of SAG shield is represented really well in this 1/35 scale set and the shield features two distinct layers of G-LAM material and very sharp bolt details. I’m not completely sure what “clipper limiter” in the name of this set actually stands for, but I suspect it describes the two vertical beams installed to the front of the shield. If anyone has a clue what these are for, please let me know.
Conclusion:
US MARSOC Navy Seals SAG Shield (LRE-35294) set from Live Resin consists of three identical SAG gunners shields in 1/35 scale. Cast really well and nicely detailed, the set provides a realistic representation of SAG shield which should prove a welcomed accessory for anyone building US SOF vehicles.

This phase was just pure fun: glue, paint, decals in no particular order... everything was finished in a day or two. Then I disc...
