A while back, I had the pleasure of reviewing Armor35’s 1/35 and 1/16 Fantasy Model Tank Girls. This was Tank Girl (Model No. ARM35901). Since then, Armor35 has created a few more of these 3D designed figures. Recently, I was able to get my hands on two more from this series, German Tanker and Modern Tanker.

Both the German Tanker and Modern Tanker are supplied in Armor35’s traditional style packaging which is a small end-opening cardboard box. Both of these figures were originally sculpted by Svetlana Rykunova. The masters were then reproduced in 3D and finally cast in resin. In the case of both figures, the parts are supplied protected inside the box, sealed in Ziploc baggies.

Modern Tanker – Model No. ARM35904

The Modern Tanker contain four parts; 3 cast resin and one small length of wire. The figure is depicted sitting on a storage box holding a rifle and she I wearing modern, yet provocative, version of a Russian tanker uniform. The bulk of the figure is cast complete in one piece. The hands, which are clasping the barrel of the riffle are separate from the figure. Supplied in this kit, is a small resin cat wooden crate for the figure to sit on.

The figure has been produced extremely well. There are no air bubbles and zero flash visible on the figure. The figure is attached to its casting block at the base of the feet and a resin casting post connects her ”bottom” to the block. This basically leave no clean up to be done after removing the figure from the block. The rifle and hands that were cast separate are designed nicely as well. There is a tiny amount of flash between the trigger and trigger guard. However, this is easily removed with a sharp #11 blade. The small piece of copper wire included is for the builder to use as a radio wire end for the tanker’s helmet.

German Tanker – Model No. ARM35905

The German Tanker comes with five cast resin piece and one length of lead wire. The bulk of the figure is cast in one piece. There are three arms included in this kit; one left arm and two right. This gives the builder the option of having the figure with two bent arms or one straight. The figure comes equipped with a machine gun that can be placed in the hand of the straight right arm or under the bent right arm. The gun is cast very well with minor flash only between the trigger and trigger guard. As seen with the Modern Tanker, this flash is easily removed via a sharp #11 blade. The figure is attached to her original casting block at the feet, leaving this figure with basically no cleanup other than the attachment points where the arms were attached to their corresponding blocks.

The figure is depicted with a more sensual version of the German tanker uniform from the Second World War. The length of lead wire is for connecting the headset she is wearing to a radio as her left hand is bent up touching her left ear as if she is trying to listen to a radio message.

Conclusion

I have to say I am impressed with the Fantasy Model Tank Girl Series. The figures have been sculpted extremely well and the 3D rendering prior to resin casting makes for a nearly flawless figure. There is little to no flash, and what is present, is only behind the trigger guards to the included weapons. Being fantasy based, these figures are just, fun! They are a bit unpractical as female tankers of course, as it would be highly unlikely they would wear such stimulating garb…but again, these are fantasy figures! What is great about this line of figures is that Ar,pr35 creates this line in both 1/35 and 1/16 scaling. The designs have been beautifully produced and the details are pleasing and crisp. These figures would make for an excellent addition to a fantasy diorama, post 1945 build or simply on their own….just for fun. Highly recommended for anyone interested in the subject matter at hand!
