This book is a tremendous resource; providing historical, technical and photographic information in great detail. The book begins with the history of events starting on D-Day (June 6, 1944) and gives an account of major events and engagements for each day up to August 30 when the last German troops escaped the Falaise pocket by crossing over the Seine river.

After covering the history of the events of the Normandy campaign, the author covers the Panther regiments involved with a brief history of each one and the number of tanks they contained. All of this is supplemented with vivid images.

The section, “Camouflage & Markings” consists of twelve pages containing full-color renderings. Information on the unique markings and use of numbers are covered for the various regiments and companies. The author also covers distinguishing equipment details, such as method and location of placement of spare tracks, wheels and jerry cans. The renderings even depict varying location and application of zimmerit.

The section, “Model Showcase” features excellent color images of 1:35 scale models and dioramas built by popular modelers, Lester Plaskit, Sergey Kovalyov, Sheng Hui, Shin Oikawa and Du Weijie.

“Modelling Products” covers kits in various scales appropriate to the Normandy campaign by popular companies such as Dragon Model Ltd, Tamiya, Italeri and others. It also covers photo-etched brass an aluminum accessories offered by Eduard Model Accessories, Royal Model and many more including after market track links. Dry transfer and waterslide transfer markings from various manufacturers are also covered.

SS Panzer regiments that were in the area are also covered with the same degree of history and detail as previously shown in earlier in the book.

“Technical Details and Modifications” covers the Panther ausfuhrung D and the details that are unique to that model, such as the commander's cupola, gun mantlet and smoke candle discharger. The use and application of Zimmerit paste is covered in detail complete with reference images.

The book concludes with the “Product Contact List”, providing the contact information for the companies mentioned in the “Modelling Products” section. There's even a recommendation of books for further reading.
