Tankograd Gazette is a magnificent magazine published quarterly in Germany, and is available in English. It is a non-profit magazine which contains very little (if any!) advertising. I have yet to see an illustrated AFV Magazine come anywhere close to the caliber of this one. The specific focus of this series is on Soviet and Warsaw Pact AFVs, Artillery and other land based vehicles, encompassing the prewar era to the present day. There is plenty of high quality photographic reference, technical manual extracts, 1/35th scale plans, and textual data.
Here is a sampling of article subjects from issues 11-14:
T34 maintenance, OKA and Kondensator SP Nuclear Artillery Systems, T37 and T38 amphibians, PT76 amphibious tank production variatiants, T64 in Ukrainian service, KV2 in Operation Barbarossa.
2001 prices for a 4 issue subscription was 90DM, and this was a reasonable price considering the excellence of the product. 2002 prices should be similar but interested readers should enquire at the address below. Jochen Vollert, who edits and produces these excellent magazines, and who even provides a bookshop service with difficult to find Russian AFV titles, should be congratulated for his achievements in this magazine. I only wish that AFVs of other nations were as well represented in similar publications!
