Introduction
Polegate with Sentry Post (Schlagbaum mit Wachpostenhaus) is a resin diorama set from Artitec. This 1/87 set is item 87.074.

Siegfried Line Sentry Post
Crisply cast in buff colored resin, Schlagbaum mit Wachpostenhaus comprises 24 parts:
    Guard shack parts x 6
Gate poles x 3 (long, medium, short)
Gate stands x 3 (tall, medium, low)
Gate pole rests x 3 (tall, medium, low)
    Gate stand bases x 3
    Pole rest bases x 3
    I-beam obstacle x 3
this kit consists of 24 parts. Casting is very good with no air pocks or mold seam lines, although there is a lot of very thin flash. Several parts were packed attached to their pour blocks, and a few of them detached in shipping.

Detail
Artitec sculpted fine wood grain into the lumber of the sentry shed. The gate posts and stands feature good detail for the timbers and hinges for the gate poles.

Instructions
A simple sheet of paper illustrated with line art guides assembly. It is printed in three languages: Dutch; English; German. A halftone image advertises Artitec's "dragon teeth." Painting guidance is for Humbrol colors - a pallet of three! However, Artitec presents weathering tips.

Although no other information is provided on the instruction sheet, the box art shows the models in a diorama, and wartime photos of a sentry post in the Siegfried line.

Conclusion
This is a simple kit with a trio of options. The casting is well done even if the shack is surrounded by flash. It is thin and easily snaps off.

Polegate with Sentry Post is a good diorama kit. It can be displayed as the main scene, or as part of a larger diorama. I recommended it.
SUMMARY
Highs: Impressive detail. Three sizes of gates.
Lows: Flash.
Verdict: A good diorama kit. It can be displayed as the main scene, or as part of a larger diorama. I recommended it.

I'm a professional pilot with a degree in art. My first model was an AMT semi dump truck. Then Monogram's Lunar Lander right after the lunar landing. Next, Revell's 1/32 Bf-109G...cried havoc and released the dogs of modeling! My interests--if built before 1900, or after 1955, then I proba...

These are fine but unless you offer it as a separate kit a bunker or two plus a whole bunch of Dragon's teeth are really necessary for anything representing the West Wall.
