Introduction

Stripes on tank barrels were a variant of victory marks. Also known as Kill rings; they came into being during World War II by the German tank, artillery and anti aircraft crew as a way of displaying how many main gun kills they had and it was also a way of getting crew to compete. Kills had to be recorded by the tank commander and verified by the Regiment, Battalion or squadron commanding officers. Damaged enemy was not allowed to be marked.

These tank stripes were mostly all white, painted with single stroke of a paintbrush. Such kill marks were less common in other armies. However, the Allies sometimes used similar paintwork on upgunned tanks and tank destroyers to make the longer gun barrel less conspicuous.

Lately released B6-35132 Einer Mehr, literally means One More, is a two figure kit depicting German tankers adding a new kill ring to their Stug III’s barrel.

Review

Kit comes in standard cardboard box of BRAVO-6 labeled with a photo of the painted figures. Inside the box; parts of each figure A and B are inserted into seperate transparent zip-lock bags and a third one for the Stug III barrel.

Resin quality is good, details are crisp and clean. There is no casting mistakes, air bubbles, flesh resin or visible seamlines to clean. Just a short cleanwork for the seamline on barrel.

He wears a pocketless, half-open front with 4 buttons German Army undershirt with long sleeves and Field Grey Panzer Trousers. Details of the trousers like button fly, four pockets with scalloped single-button flaps and adjustment belt with metal buckle, cloth folds and wrinkles are well represented. As for footgear, he has Long boots.

Facial details and German military style haircut are well defined.

Arms come in upfolded sleeves. Right arm holds a paintbrush and left arm is posed to put on the tank barrel. Paintbrush is given as a tiny part on the arms sprue.

His uniform is Field Grey Panzer Wrap Jacket, panzer trousers and boots.

He has a Sidecap on his head. Besides nicely represented facial features; details of the sidecap like piping, national emblem and cockade are well defined.

Left arm is posed to hold the paint can and right arm holds a cigarette.

Stug III 75 mm barrel is given a seperate part and will need some cleanwork.

Conclusion

This is another unique WW II German Tankers kit from BRAVO-6. They can be displayed alone with 75 mm barrel on a figure base or they can be a part of an at rest diorama scene with any other German tank or artillery. As always, great sculpt by Vladi and flawless cast.
