Artitec has photo-etched a range of 1/87 camouflage nets of First World War types. This review presents two WWI Camouflage Nets, A & B.
Camonet A is item 1870147 and Camonet B is item 1870148.
Artitec currently catalogues two other camouflage nets.

The Nets
These nets are photo-etched. No poles or stakes are provided.
These nets are etched to an ultrafine thickness. They are supple like facial tissue.
Detail
Artitec etched open mesh into these nets. The nets are square with shallows scalloping between corners. Garnishing and garlands are etched into the nets as well.
Painting and Instructions
Very simple - a small paper with printing on one-side, written in Dutch, English, and German.
The only painting instruction is to apply the color by spraying, not brushing.
Deploying
Being so malleable it was easy to drape this netting over a tank. I do not have any 1/87 WWI tanks so I draped an unpainted net over a Churchill. Fits very well.
Conclusion
These camouflage nets are exceptionally versatile for 1/87 dioramas. I do not know what makes these two specific to the First World War, and I think they can plausibly be used for 1/76 and 1/72.
Artitec engineered these to a high standard. They are very detailed and conform well over irregular surfaces. I sprayed mine with enamel paint and the brass sheet took the paint, no problem.
Be very careful handling the net. The mesh is fine but not fragile. I did not tear it even though I formed it thrice and flattened it out twice.
I am very impressed with this netting and look forward to presenting the two newer nets I possess. Recommended!
Please remember to mention to Artitec and retailers that you saw this product here -on Armorama.
