Introduction
Once again, inspired by a war-time photo,
Vladimir Demchenko sculpted a nice kit to create interesting World War II dioramas or vignettes.
B6-35136 Cross of Wood is a two-figure kit including German soldiers in standard uniforms getting ready for a burial.
Packing & Casting
Kit comes in standard light brown cardboard box labeled with a photo of the figures painted by Vladi. Inside the box; figure bodies and heads, arms and other parts are inserted into seperate transparent zip-lock bags and all lumped together into a larger one.
Parts are cast in medium gray resin and represented with easy to remove casting blocks. Resin quality is good, details are crisp and clean. There is no casting mistakes, air bubbles, flesh resin. Just a few slightly visible seamlines to clean.
Review
Figures come as bodies with seperate heads and arms.
Figure-A is posed to carry a wooden cross. He wears standard Germany Army M36 field uniform of Tunic Feldbluse in grey-green color with five front buttons, four pleated pockets-two breast and two waist -all with flap covers and secured with metal buttons and Trousers Feldhose in stone gray color. Wrinkles and cloth folds, pockets, buttons, collar and collar tabs, shoulder boards and wowen breat eagle over the right breast pocket are all well sculpted. As for footgear, they have Long boots.
Figure-B is posed to carry a shovel on his left shoulder. He wears pocketless Army Shirt with long sleeves and half-open in front with four buttons, trousers and jack boots. Over his shirt, he has and Y-Strap suspenders Koppeltragegestell. Details of the trousers like front fly, slit pockets with buttons, adjustment belt on the back and buttons to attach Y-Strap are nicely sculpted.
Heads show nice facial details, hair and a sad expression are well defined on both figures. Figure-B has a side cap Schiffen. Piping, national emblem and cockade are well defined.
Arms of the Figure-A are posed to carry a wooden cross and comes in long sleeves of the uniform jacket. Figure-B has upfolded sleeeves of shirt and left arm is posed to hold the shovel on his shoulder.
