Miniart are a relative newcomer from the Ukraine, and are mainly known for producing some very nice buildings in vac-formed styrene. They have now started to produce 1/35th figures which offer great vale for money.
contents
As seems usual, the figures come sealed in a transparent bag within an end-opening box, the front of which has some nice box art with the sugested poses, and the rear of which acts as a painting and construction guide, although no actual paint manufacturer references are given. Instead we are given 'Flesh' or 'Field grey', etc.
Inside you can find one large sprue, cut into two pieces to fit inside the box, and this holds all the parts. There is also a small parts map, since the sprue itself holds no parts numbers. The styrene is light gray, neither too soft, nor too hard. There is a small amount of flash present, but none that will present a problem to remove. The moulding is sharp, each of the faces for example being extremely well-done and different from the others, although none of them seems to show any expression?
There are five figures included in the set. Four 'workmen' and one officer. Two of the workmen figures are bareheaded, the other two wearing the M43 field cap. The officer has a peaked cap on. All the figures are depicted in service shirts, and the officer has no tunic on. Two of the workmen are wearing braces.
Figure 1 is posed applying leverage with a crowbar (supplied), whilst bending at the knees. Figure 2 appears to be knocking a track pin into place with a sledgehammer (applied), figure 3 pulling on a rope (not supplied) as if guiding a track run into place, and figure 4 has both arms raised as if pushing the top run of a track into place. Three of the figures are wearing work pants with large front pockets. The figure puuling on a rope is depicted wearing work gloves. The actual hands of the figure do not appear to have gloves on however. The officer figure is posed as if to be coordinating the efforts of the other four figures.
in conclusion
Another value for money set, which at this price is a recommended purchase.
My Thanks to MiniArt Ltd. for the review sample.
