35195 - SOVIET HEAVY TANK KV-1 or KV-2: Vol.5 - Tool boxes late type for early fenders. This new set from the Polish AM specialist Aber, consists of a single sheet of Photo-Etched brass ( for 3 boxes) along with a length of brass rod.
In detail
I will say at the outset, that virtually all update sets, do include the tool boxes. Trying not to be blasé about them, they are something which the original kits do quite well with the proviso, that plastic tool boxes do look very solid and PE will give the modeller the option to build them as damaged or open.
This set, is very-well executed indeed with a nice addition being the brass rod, again, to give more of a '3-D' feel to them. Simple to build although, having done a fair few, I would STRONGLY recommend one of the bending tools to ensure crisp folds.
Conclusions
Simple, but of immeasurable value in enhancing the basic kit. This is also a simple set which would act as an excellent introduction to the 'dark arts' of folding PE.
SUMMARY
Volume # 5 in Aber's series of updates, is a set which is recommended as a simple addition to the Trumpeter kits.
