Proart Models are quickly establishing a name for themselves by producing a range of very high quality resin upgrades and diorama accessories. New from Proart Models is this set of skirts and smoke grenade launchers for the German, Dutch & Greek Leopard 2A5/2A6 in 1/35th scale.
the set
Since, yet again this is a modern update set, I'll attempt to just describe the contents and leave it those who know this vehicle in depth to point out anything wrong with it, if there actually is anything wrong with it!
This set from Proart Models arrives in a small rectangular box, the contents of which are bagged and protected by polystyrene chips. There is a one-sided instruction sheet. The contents are all extremely well-cast in an almost white resin, with very little flash indeed on the parts themselves. Since this is a preview, and not a review, I'll let the parts speak for themselves through the photographs, and just describe the quality of the parts. These are quite simply, some of the finest cast resin parts I've ever seen. There is a very fine pattern engraved onto the side skirts, which replicates the real thing I've seen in photographs very closely indeed, and all this with no air bubbles whatsoever. It's carried over to both sides of the skirts as well.
Being modern, I haven't a clue what some of the parts are that are included, no doubt we have many users that do recognise them all! The instructions are clear where the different parts are installed though, and also differentiate between the Dutch version and the German etc.
conclusion
I can't say whether or not this set provides everything a modeller would need to create the versions stated, but having handled the parts and examined them closely, I can attest to their high quality. In that respect I can recommend them!
