Tamiya may have been inspired to begin their range of 1/48th armour by producing vehicles for airfield dioramas in that scale. Whatever the reason, one of their more unusual releases was the Volkswagen Type 82E Staff Car. This very small photo etched set from Hauler provides us with basically a roof rack for the vehicle.

All that is provided in this set is one small brass coloured photo etched fret, and a simple set of instructions showing how to fold the parts from the fret to assemble the rack.

Basically there are three parts on the fret. Two sides, and the base which includes the slats. Dead simple...........but think how good it will look with loads of stowage on it all tied down!

conclusion

Although a very simple set indeed, this will look very different on your Type 82 Volkswagen. Highly recommended!
