Blast Models is well known for their range of accessories for 1/35 AFV's. From the simple accessories, to the more complex conversion sets, they are used in many models that we can see on display and they produce a comprehensive range of accessories and conversion from WWII to Modern vehicles.
This release is one of the most recent in their range and it's intended for the also recent M2 Half Track from Dragon. It comprises a "very full" rear stowage rack, two mine racks acting as general stowage areas, two folded tarps to use over the front fenders (one of them includes a machine gun tripod), small stowage Items and a cargo compartment tarp completely open.
parts molding and quality
As usual the level of detail of these Blast Models parts is very good. All the small details, folds, straps are neatly reproduced and can really help to create a realistic model.
I especially like the tarp and the rear storage rack. The quality of the sculpting is obviously very good and it helps the builder to achieve good results.
There's not much resin we need to get rid of. No air bubbles I could see in my sample and it seems to me that with a little effort the parts are ready to paint and glue to your Half Track.
With average/good painting skills is easy to make these items stand out in any model.
I was happy to find that the resin used for casting this set does not have the "active" smell that I found in previous products, but even in the worst case they don't come close to the resin used by Legends. That stuff really smells :(
verdict
I would say, go for it. For €19.50 it's not breaking the bank and it'll add a lot of impact to any M2 model. If you want to build an M2 that has seen it's share of action then this set is for you. The apparent chaos of items hanging everywhere reproduces what we can see in period photos.
Highly Recommended
Product bought directly to Blast Models. As usual, flawless service and fast delivery

About António Pires Preto (antoniop) FROM: LISBOA, PORTUGAL
I started to build 1/72 planes a long time ago. And stopped a long time ago...
My hobby has been Radio Control for the past 14 years. But after a while I got fed up with the "competitive" side of the hobby and decided to look at static kits once again.
1/72 was out of the question and armor seemed...
Antonio,
Thats a good review .

Thanks
Michael
Nice half-track stowage.
I've never heard of Blast Models before. Does anyone happen to know of any distributors for them in the UK or Germany (or failing that, other European countries)?
Steve,
I'm not sure if they have distributors in Europe, but we have their on line shop (http://www.blast-models.com) that works extremely well.
I buy from them direct and the service is flawless.
Buy direct !!
The service and update information is exceptional .
The customer service from Blast is as what I have found on the net
1 of the best .
Reason : the figures and vehicle products obtained from their online shop over the last 12 months has been very quick.
I ordered the product from Blast and had it on my doorstep in a week .
Don't get me wrong I am not giving them a big plug here but just speaking from personal experience on what I have ordered and used .
Cheers
Michael
I agree 100% with Michael in that Blast are VERY efficient indeed, however, the only gripe I have with them is the minimum quantity and the postage CAN work out a bit pricey. Also, French VAT is high (something which is TOTALLY outside their control)...
