The figures now come presented in a nice black box , a picture of the painted figure inside is displayed on the box front. This is an improvement over the bag and card display, as it will help keep the figure safe until it is used.
On opening the box you are presented with the white metal figure inside a small zip lock bag. The bottom of the box is lined with a piece of soft foam similar to the kind found in ring boxes, again this is designed to protect the figure during transportation and whilst in storage.
The figure itself is made up of five parts broken down into logical areas of arms, body, head and holster.
Head
A lot of modellers change the head at the first opportunity, this may be the case when dealing with plastic molded figures but with a good resin or metal figure this should not really be needed. So if you plan to change the head on this figure you will be disappointed as it is very well sculpted with little clean up required. My example had a slight mold line on one side but this was easily removed with a good shape blade in the scalpel.
Body
As is normal with a lot of figure manufacturers the body and legs are cast as one solid piece, there are a few mold seams to remove but nothing drastic that could damage the figure in any way. The sculpting as we have come to expect is excellent and the details on the shirt and shorts is nice and crisp taking in to account the medium used. The body has recessed areas to attach the head and arms.
Arms
The arms are set in such away so that the figure has the look of one leaning against an item (a tank or a set of boxes) smoking. The arms again have very small amount of flash to remove and have good locating plugs to fit them to the body. A little bit of sanding and filling may be required but this usually the case with all figures. The arms continue with the excellent detail even to the extent that the smoking hand has a small hole pre drilled so you can fit the cigarette into it
the holster
The holster again is cleanly cast and the fact that is is separate also means these figures can be used not just as tankers but as other British desert figures.
conclusion
All in all another great figure from a new producer, that will look good in a lot of desert scenes.
Jakrei miniatures continue to buck the trend, you only have to look at the future releases to see what Pete has in store. A lot of modellers have complained for a long time at the lack of allied figures so I hope that now someone has brought them to the market place they will now support this venture.
SUMMARY
Highs: Another well cast figure in the range, which is sure to be popular, does not just have to be used as a tanker due the generic pose and sculpt.Lows: Does not contain any painting or construction details for those not familiar with the medium.Verdict: A well recommended figure in the range, perfect for those looking for Allied figures.

About Keith Forsyth (docdios) FROM: ENGLAND - WEST MIDLANDS, UNITED KINGDOM
Keith Forsyth (docdios) comes from the small town of Stafford in the United Kingdom. He began his interest in modeling at an early age with armor being the main focus. It was not until finding himself between jobs in 1995 that he really got hooked. It was during a shopping visit to another town when...
He's a real beaut Keith. Looking at the photo of the diassambled parts, do the edges of his boot soles have mud or is it just flash that needs removal?
Brad
Hi brad
its just a little bit of casting flash, i could have cleaned it all up but i would rather you see how it comes out of the box as is.
cheers
keith
Hi Brad,
If you leave his pistol off he'd fit in a lot of situations. I'm not much on painting figs, but here he is with a couple of mates and some paint.
Cheers
Al
Good review Keith.
If you could find a replacement John Mills head you could put him leaning on a bar with a glass of Carlsberg in his hand you could do an "Ice Cold in Alex" vignette
Here he is with Jakrei's other Desert Tanker
