The IDF mainly wore uniforms adopted from the British and American forces up through the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. They developed their own uniforms that were better suited to the arid, desert environment in the early ‘70s. Hobby Fan's release of the IDF Six Day War represents two soldiers from the Six Day War period, 5-10 June 1967. The uniforms were some of the last adopted uniforms before the IDF developed their own uniforms.
Review
As usual, Hobby Fan comes through with a great set of figures to compliment their plastic kit side of the house, AFV Club. These figures are intended to go along with their recent release of the IDF Sho’t (Centurion) Mk.5, Mk.5/1 1967 kit (# AF 35195). Included are two figures: a tank commander and an infantryman. They wear US WWII-era uniforms and equipment. The tanker comes in 4 pieces; torso, head and arms; and has on the old M1 leather tanker’s helmet and goggles and a pistol on a pistol belt. The infantryman is outfitted with a net-covered M1 steel-pot helmet, suspenders, pistol belt, ammo pouches, a small haversack, shovel, and canteen and a Galil rifle.
Conclusion
Both figures are up to Hobby Fan’s usual excellent mold standards with crisp details and fine moldings on the clothing, faces, and accessories. They are also well packed in individual Ziploc baggies and then wrapped in bubble wrap inside sturdy cardboard box. There were no damaged pieces on my samples. This is a finely produced set of resin figures as a compliment to the AFV Club IDF Centurion kits.
SUMMARY
Highs: Finely molded and crisp details.Lows: None that I can find.Verdict: I highly recommend this figure set to compliment AFV Club’s Centurion kits.
