A very nice little kit the basic parts are present, a good PE for beginners, more experienced modelers may not need it.
packaging
The kit come is a small carton box. The photo-etch frets are packed under plastic bags taped onto a small cardboard as usual for Voyager model. I personally like this particular packaging from Voyager since the small PE parts are not destroyed during shipping and handling.
Kit Contents: The kit consists of the following parts: 4 PE frets 2 metals parts for the antenna base 1 steel wire 0.3mm*10cm 1 steel cable 0.3mm*10cm 1 ABS rod 0.5mm*5cm 2 ABS rods 1.0mm*5cm
The instruction set is coming in 2 A4 sheets (3 sheets) and they are clear with all the steps represented in a break down fashion. All the PE parts are depicted in yellow to ease the build.
PE upgrade and assembly
This small kit represents a minimal upgrade set for the Hobbyboss kits # 82344 & 82435. This PE kit will update the following items for the hull only: Engine grill with the perfect PE spacer and flap for the good height All hatches latches All the tools attachment points Tow cable and attachment points Light guards Front surf board Armor skirts Small details on the AT missile.
This is done in 14 sub assembly sequences.
The main advantage of this kit is the armor skirts in PE, the plastic ones are always thicker than the real one. Concerning the rest of the kit, you dont face any big issues with the rest of the build.
The only modifications for the turret are the chain for the grenade launchers and the small wings for the AT missile.
Conclusion
But I dont understand why the turret receives so little attention. Good addition especially for the skirts, the thickness of the PE is close to the real vehicle. And it is also a good starting point for the beginners in the PE world.
SUMMARY
Highs: Price, content of the kit and very easy. Recommended for beginners.Lows: Very few improvements.Verdict: A small amount of improvement over the base HobbyBoss kit, not absolutely necessary.
