This is yet another fine figure from Wolf. Moulded in pale cream colored resin, this figure depicts a sergeant in one of the Guards divisions leaning against his vehicle (a Cromwell) reading a map. He is wearing battledress with a webbing belt and leather jerkin.

As always, the Wolf figure came almost perfectly moulded, with a very minor seam to remove in a few places. The pose is realistic, and the figure comes as one piece. The face is fairly animated, and he looks like someone reading a map. I suppose one could paint the map as a magazine or paper instead. I find the figure looks better as I paint it. I have base coated the battledress, painted the face and hands and done his leather jerkin. I used acrylics for the base coat, and follow Bob Tavis' advice I did the leather by undercoating with a brown, then applying a layer of oil paint over the jerkin. After 10 to 15 minutes, I brushed off as much of the oil as I could. After drying a few days, the jerkin looks leather!

I thing the legs could have been moulded a bit better. They look like two legs stuck together rather than simply two legs crossed. That may be picking nits, but Wolf figures are so good this is noticeable!

I highly recommend this figure, and as always it comes boxed, bagged, and includes a fairly detailed painting guide. The painting guide even includes references!!!
