The Panzerfaust 60 was the most commonly produced version of the Panzerfaust series, with the 60 designating the distance, in meters, that the projectile could travel. It was able to penetrate 200 mm of armor, was inexpensive to produce, and widely distributed to German forces and their allies in WWII.
With the increasing numbers of armored vehicles the Allies were producing, there was a great need for weapons such as the Panzerfaust on the front lines. To get them there, they were packed, three in a wooden crate, and shipped to the front. This set, from PlusModel.cz represents four of these wooden crates, all closed.
the kit
The set is simple. Four resin crates are packaged in a clear plastic pouch with a cardboard insert to make the pouch rigid. A small decal sheet is included, with one "Panzerfaust 60" decal for each of the crates.
Details on the crates are very well done, with rope handles on the ends nicely represented, latches on the box fronts and hinges on the rear. The individual planks are cleanly shown, though there is no wood grain texture. Nail or screw holes are also visible. There is a substantial pour plug on the bottom that will have to be carefully removed, but the resin is soft and this should not be too difficult. Instructions are basic, stating to paint wood brown and showing the placement of the decal on the crate top.
The small, fine details are also very fragile. It would have helped to have each of the crates wrapped separately or some other protective measure taken such as taping the individual pieces to the cardboard insert. On my sample, all four boxes had been damaged from bumping into each other, with at least a rear hinge or a front latch broken off of each crate.
conclusion
Overall this is a very nice addition and will look great in the back of the German truck I will need to buy, but it is disappointing to have to repair each of the crates. Still, I recommend the set. It is very basic, but for what it is, it is very nice.

I got back into the hobby a few years back, and wanted to find ways to improve, which is how I found this site. Since joining Armorama I have improved tremendously by learning from others here, and have actually finished a couple of kits. I model to relax and have fun, but always look to improve. ...
That was the only downside to this set, but it is significant. I thought the parts might be floating inside the packaging but when I opened it I couldn't find any of them. The quality of the box clasps that did survive is really quite nice but extremely delicate. Thanks for noticing the review, though. And James, thanks for the help getting it posted.
Nice review, and I think I actually DO see some wood grain texture on the long side of the box. Of course, these might have other applications for modern guys as well.
