Concrete Block Short
Short Concrete Barriers

Introduction:

The Concrete Barriers can be combined in many ways to create modern urban dioramas. Roadblocks commonly seen in Iraq and other conflicts quickly come to mind. These are commonly found in road construction zones. They can also be seen at airfields for building or compound protection.

Plus Model have been busy with releasing diorama accessories; here again with the quality of packaging and products that we have come to expect from them.

The review:

I painted the cut away portions with Red Vallejo acrylic. The paint started coming off which is why priming is always a good idea when working with resin products. Since the casting block is at the bottom of these, you can just stick them into your base material of clay, spackling, plaster, etc. The problem area is the small notch located on the bottom which is cut away in real life. A drill and a hobby knife may be the answer, but some black paint to simulate shadow in this area may save your time as well.

Conclusion:

The concrete road barriers remains a very popular choice in my mind. They will go with many types of modern armor dioramas, and they potentially cross-over with O scale railroad and 1/48 airfield dioramas.

SUMMARY
Highs: Good quality and detail of the resin. There are few 1/48 accessory items on the market currently so these are more than welcome additions.
Lows: Need to cut away the notch on the bottom for a more realistic appearance.
Verdict: These concrete blocks have a much broader application to modern dioramas.

Then at 8 years of age, I practiced the art of fireworks and BB gun marksmanship on those kits. When I was 25, he gave me his 1/48 unbuilt Bandai kits t...
