Plus Model has a line of products released under the ‘Easyline’ name. These releases are generally packaged as one or two diorama detail pieces. The releases are very affordably priced and most subjects would cost the average modeler more to scratch build.
review
The subject of this release is Loudspeakers. There are two resin horn type speakers and one small fret of photo-etch. The resin pieces are nicely cast in light grey and show no flaws or air bubbles. There is minimal flash to remove and the pour lugs are located where removal is easily done. The small PE fret consists of two brackets for holding the speakers to a pole or stanchion.
The pieces all come in a plastic ‘envelope’ type of package. The only problem with this kit in this type of package is that the speaker horns were fairly distorted from having no ‘sturdy’ protection (see photo).
That said, they were very easily repaired by dipping them into very hot water for a few seconds and gently pushing the distorted area against something round that matched the speaker opening ( in this case a paint jar lid)
Conclusion
Air raid sirens, stadium speakers, Odd Ball’s tank in Kelly’s Heroes, a PK broadcasting truck, whatever you are modeling that might require Loudspeakers you can’t beat these for the detail and price.
SUMMARY
Highs: Beautifully cast with no huge casting flaws. Very good value.Lows: Slight distortion issues out of the package. Some minimal flash and seams.Verdict: Unique subject that would be difficult to reproduce at the price asked.
