Introduction
Many years ago Dragon Model had a quartermaster series that included different WWII and modern weapons. Most of those are sold out but sometimes you can find them in LHS, e-bay, or online retailers (I got mine for 5 USD at
Hobbyeasy).
Kit contents and review
Usual Dragon's figure cardboard end opening box with weapons drawn on the front side and painting guide on the back. Inside there is 1 plastic bag containing 4 sprues.
On the sprues you will find 18 types of weapons, from pistols to machine guns, each item present in duplicates, while pistols are 4 of each.
Here is a full list:
• MG15
• MG42
• MG34
• ZB-26
• FG42 with scope
• StG.44
• Kar 43 with scope
• Kar 98 folding stock
• Gew 43
• VG 1-5
• Mp40
• Mkb 42 (w)
• Kar98k
• Gew 33/40
• Mkb 42 (h)
• Mauser M1932
• Mauser HSc
• Walther flare pistol
The weapon and related parts (f.e. for MG's and rifles with scopes) are located in its own part of the sprue with a name, so you won't get lost even if you will lose the box. The standard of molding is a bit outdated and cannot compete with Gen2 weapons, but since many of those are not available anywhere else in plastic (like Mauser pistol) it is a good set. There are no pin marks or flash, and only little clean up is required. Be careful when removing them from the sprues, some are very tiny.
Conclusion
Even though the weapons are not Gen2, they can be useful if you do a diorama or need to put something in your vehicle and don't want to buy figure kits (these are my usual source of weapons). If you add an etched sling they will look great.
