J’s Work out of China is a fairly new company that has been expanding its catalog of products at a fairly brisk pace. Their newest series of products are in what they call “Modeling Solution” and debuts with a pair of camouflage painting masks for the 38(t) Hetzer.
the masks
Packaged in a reseal-able cellophane envelope, the masks are laser cut on a single sheet of masking paper. Adhesive quality is equal to, or a bit less than, Tamiya masking tape…enough to stick firmly yet not enough to peel the paint off, and I had no evidence of leftover adhesive on my test pieces. No specific brand model is indicated, I tried this out on the DML kit and Aber side skirts.
Each piece is cut all the way around, so no little tabs to worry about, and released from the backing paper easily. The pieces are also marked with a letter corresponding to the color it is to be placed on; Y=yellow, G=green and B=red/brown, so if the base color will be yellow then all the “Y” masks will be placed before spraying the second color. The included full color instruction sheet also recommends which color should be applied first, and a star on the mask indicates the first piece to be placed. Small cut marks on the masks are used to help align the pieces on the model. The instructions indicate the use of liquid mask, so make sure you have some on hand before starting.
conclusion
Adding all the pieces will take care and patience, although I believe the effort will be well worth it. Judging from my quick test these seem to be very flexible and should conform to the nooks and crannies pretty well, and also were more tear resistant than I expected. Overall, I’m very impressed and highly recommend these.
J's Work products are available only from Lucky Model, with each of these masks priced at $6.99 with free shipping.

About James Bella (c5flies) FROM: CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES
My main interest is 1/35 scale WWII armor, Axis and Allied, and will occasionally branch out into other areas. The builds I have done so far have been pretty much OOB, and considering what most newer kits include, that is usually more than enough for me. Even though my projects do not always end up ...

If you have a Hetzer that you would like to try this set on send me a PM. I only used 3 simple pieces for the review and they should be re-usable, and if not should be easy to re-create.
