Resicast have just released a further 3 Tankers in Pixie Suits to compliment their existing range of 1/35 British Tank Crewmen.

These full body figures will be extremely useful additions for modellers of British/Commonwealth armour and diorama makers. Individually, combined or added to some of their existing sets of tankers these new figures will add to the range of choices modellers have.

Some of their existing sets have already been reviewed here on site and can be found at the links below:

Tank Crew in Pixie Suits

British Tanker with Map Case

Tankers Scoff Time

The figures were sculpted by Gerard De Troeye and the box/package art was done by Christophe Nachtergael.

This is a look at Tanker in Pixy No 1.

The figure

Cast in a light grey resin, the figure comes in the standard Resicast plastic zip bag with a card insert showing the completed and painted figure for reference. The figure comes in 5 parts including the body cast as a whole, separate head with right hand attached at rear, right arm and left arm and separate pistol holster. The figure depicts a standing tanker scratching his head.

The casting is excellent and I could see no damage or cause for concern with any of the parts. The figure is dressed in the tankers pixie suit. The detail on the body is excellent, the suit has all the correct pockets and straps and a nice touch is that the top map pockets actually look like they contain stuff.

The Pixie suit is open at the neck showing the Battle Dress collar below, and around the waist is a 37 pattern belt and early style pistol holster. Brasses are present both front and rear and very nicely done indeed. To complete the body the figure wears a pair of ammo boots. There should be little clean up necessary other than the removal of the small pour stubs on the feet and arms.

The head is very nicely done showing the face of a mature tanker wearing a tankers beret and with a bemused look on his face. The right hand is attached to the back of the tankers head. The right arm is designed to show the tanker with his hand ‘scratching the back of his head’, whist the left arm is designed to rest on the left hip. The cuffs on the arms have the small stud fastenings in place.

The figure measures approx 44mm from heel to shoulder so a perfectly acceptable height and the overall body proportions are good.

This is yet another excellent figure from Resicast. As a stand alone figure or added to, or with, some of the other excellent options available this figure offers yet more choice for modellers. The figure needs little clean up so you can get to the fun part quickly.

The overall detail is terrific and the pose a natural looking stance.

The pistol holster was missing from my example but should be easily replaced.
Highs: Excellent detail and a natural looking pose.
Lows: None.
Verdict: Highly recommended.

About Alan McNeilly (AlanL)

Greying slightly, but young at heart. I've been teaching adults off and on for most of my life. Left the services in 85 and first started modelling in about 87 for a few years. Then I had a long spell when I didn't build anything (too busy) and really just got started again during the summer of ...
