Review
If I am honest I only purchased this product out of curiosity after speaking to the owner of a local model shop, my curiosity was because of his conviction over how well the product adhered and how easy it was to clean up after application. When you unscrew the lid of the Perfect Plastic Putty I was surprised to find that there was no seal however the filler did not appear to be effected, the nozzle supplied with the filler is only held on with a rubber band so make sure you pick up a nozzle if it is not attached to the bottle.
I cut the nozzle down on my sample to a 1mm opening and that was a tight fit for a paperclip when inserted in the hole, this size of hole provided me with excellent control over application of the filler without making it difficult to squeeze out the filler. I picked up a DML Flak Panzer V Coelian today and as the fit is not the greatest I used the model to see how well the product worked. I applied a small amount of the filler to some small gaps at the rear of the turret as can be seen by the pictures using controlled application, I then also placed a blob of the filler on the sides of the gun mount and rubbed the filler into the seam using a Mk 1 finger which can again be seen by the pictures. The filler closely resembles very well mixed polyfilla and has a very fine texture, the filler during application stuck extremely well which was much better than I expected.
The drying time for the filler before it can be sanded was approximately one hour and the dry texture is like very fine sandpaper, I was unable to find any shrinkage of the filler when it dried which is another big plus as we have all I am sure found the need on occasion to fill a gap more than once with some fillers. I sanded the filler using good old throw away nail files which more than easily cut through the filler leaving me with the results seen in the next set of pictures. All in all a very impressive product that surprised and impressed me.
Conclusion
What can I say other than I highly recommend you give this filler a try as it is better than I thought possible. It is water based so no smelly chemicals in the mix to cause skin and respiratory problems, it can be cleaned up with water so an error in application or getting some on the carpet is easily cleaned up or removed. Control over application to the model is first rate with excellent control over both flow and placement which also allows for very fine beads of filler to be applied to just about any location that the nozzle tip can reach.
