introduction
A fragmentation grenade (commonly known as frag or frag grenade) is an anti-personnel weapon that is designed to disperse small projectiles or fragments on detonation. The body may be made of hard plastic or steel. The outer casing and/or a fragmentation matrix consisting of notched wire, preformed fragments (spherical or otherwise,) provide the projectiles.
The Tactical Tailor Grenade Pouch is designed to hold one standard fragmentation grenade. On the inside, there are webbing loops to secure the grenade spoon and prevent the grenade from shifting inside the pouch. A Fastex buckle keeps the pouch closed. The pouch attaches to any MOLLE/PALS style gear with two included short MALICE CLIPS. Available in 5 color patterns: ACU, Black, Coyote Brown, MultiCam, OD and Ranger Green. The standard dimension of the pouch is: 3.5" x 2.5" x 2.5"
The review
Live Resin products come in a standard zip-lock plastic bag clamped in a cardboard 3D box-art. The front image is showing the parts layout, while the back image illustrates the optional positioning of the pouches on the IOTV torso reviewed
here .
The set includes a single molding block numbered RE35127A with 10 single frag grenade pouches. All of the pouches are visually identical. The casting is as what’s accustom to Live Resin: there are no imperfections, bubbles or any other types of defects in this sample. The molding stubs are thin and you will not have to worry about removing the parts from the plugs, or sanding anything off. Just a quick snip with your blade or sprue cutters and you’re good to go.
The pouches are nicely molded with the appropriate bulge on the bottom of the pouch indicating a grenade is inside, and all in all the detail is there, even though it’s a relatively simple design. The only thing missing is the MALICE CLIPS on the back, but this set wasn’t intended to be depicted stand-alone but attached to the body armor.
Conclusion
This set is another modular piece of the puzzle. Use it for specific load-outs or to replicate scenes from the battlefield to the minute detail. The molding is superb, just like we are all now accustomed from Live Resin and if I only have to find a single nitpick is that I would like to see some differences between the pieces. But that’s probably just waiting in the Live Resin line-up.
