Accurate Armour as I am sure most of you are aware, produce some fantastic bits of kit in resin. Whilst searching for something ‘different’ I found this little addition for the T-55.
In 1974 T-54 and T-55 started receiving various upgrades one being an additional Laser rangefinder, added above the gun barrel on the mantlet. This resin add-on depicts this particular piece.
Review
The kit arrives in its usual small plastic car headed bag and comprises of a small single piece casting. The kit is cast in Accurate Armour’s standard grey resin. As usual for one of their kits I found little to complain about with it, a minor amount of clean up will be required but is of little significance. The kit is described as being for the tamiya T-55A kit although
I have yet to try dry fitting it to the turret but I foresee no problems. The piece is a straight replacement for the kit part and depicts the barrel in a level position.
The kit was researched and designed by Zack Sex with additional work by Rob Tearle.
SUMMARY
Highs: Nice casting and an interesting subject.Lows: Zero, it does what it say.Verdict: If you are looking to build a later T-55A or are just after something a little different this is a nice piece for the collection.
