introduction
I think Vladimir noticed all U.S. figures produced by BRAVO-6 till now are somehow dynamic, in action, on the field or preparing to fight posed figures. He decided to take them away from the battlefield for a while and sculpt a series of soldiers in static poses, relaxing, at rest or away from the enemy fire.
The first kit of the new series
B6-35060 U.S. G.I.s "Take Five" includes two figures having a break.
packing & casting
Standard light brown cardbard box labeled with a photo of the assembled and painted figures. Each figure body is inserted in a seperate zip-lock bag and other parts are lumped together in a third one.
Figures are cast in medium grey resin and quality is very good, details are very crisp. No seamlines to clean and no excess resin. There is only a small air bubble to fill on the canteen.
figures
FIGURE #1
Figure comes in 2 parts with full body and right arm. Facial details, hair and moustache are well defined. He wears
3rd pattern tropical jungle jacket differing from first 2 patterns with angled pockets and no shoulder straps ,
trousers with side pockets and 3rd pattern vibram sole
jungle boots. Left arm with upfolded sleeves is cast with the body part and posed to put his hand on his waist. Wedding ring on the left hand is a nice touch. Right arm is given as a seperate part and posed to hold a cigarette. As another nice touch, a
wrist watch is tied to the button hole on the collar. It was common during Vietnam War because on this hot and humid climate, wrist watch could rub the skin and cause inflamation or infection.
Details of the uniform and cloth folds are well defined but I have to say that I found the fold under the right knee really weird.
FIGURE#2
Figure comes in 4 parts with a body, head and 2 arms. Facial details and marine haircut are well represented. He wears
OD T-shirt, jungle trousers with upfolded trotters and jungle boots. Cloth folds, fly, belt loops, pocket flaps and cargo pockets are well defined. Right arm is posed to mop his brow and left arm with wrist watch carries a one quart plastic canteen. There was an air bubble to be filled on the canteen.
A water slide decal sheet with different ranks, insignia and nametags is given inside the kit.
conclusion
The figures are very good complementary figures that can be used as crew at rest when displaying all kinds of U.S. tanks or vehicles. They can also be used in Vietnam basecamp or soldiers having a break scenes. Less parts is a good advantage not to lose time for assembly. Sculpting and casting quality are at high standard of BRAVO-6 as I wink at the small mistake on the canteen. I believe I can tolerate it because it is the first air bubble I’ve seen in my fifty-first BRAVO-6 review.:)
