Reality in Scale is in my opinion one of the most innovative company out there. They use new materials and focus on supplying the modeler with items we don't have on the market yet which can be very useful in a variation of diorama settings. If you haven't heard of Reality in Scale before I would strongly suggest to visit their website and take a look.
Review
This set, named "Dogs & Cats" comes in a clear enamel box filled with packing peanuts to protect the four grey resin pieces. You get two dogs and two cats, which means each one comes in one part and there is no need for assembly. However, I would suggest that you wash them in soapy water to remove any mould release residue. The cats are slightly larger than the dogs which suggests that these represent puppies. I checked the Reality in Scale website for further info and saw they have a separate set named "Big Dogs" so puppies would be my bet. Only one of the pieces has a resin casting plug, others require minor clean up around the paws and ears. As the fur detail is very fine and nicely reproduced, I decided to apply some wash for ease of seeing the detail on images. Be aware that these images are extremely enlarged and each piece is around 1 cm (0.4 Inch) long and about 1.5 cm (0.6 Inch) high apart from the cat depicted laying down. All positions look natural and can be used well in a stationary diorama, if you are looking for some running dogs & cats, you'll need to find another set. I will provide pictures of the painting progress below in the forum review topic when I manage to grab some time and paint these wonderful pieces.
SUMMARY
Highs: Ease of clean up, good body proportions and amazing delicate detail for this scale.Lows: Both of these are not actual lows, but minor detail that may put off some buyers. All four animals come in stationary poses and I'm sure not all people will be ready to separate to pay ten euro for this set but I think that this set was designed for those Verdict: Great set for those looking for some small detail that can enhance their diorama or vignette setting.
