Following on from the release of their 6pdr anti tank gun Riich Models have released a very useful ammunition accessories set to go with the gun.
the Set
The set comes packed in a pleasing display box showing the products contents and manufacturers details on the front and on the reveres of the box are the building and painting instructions along with a suggested range of colour paints for the build. The front cover picture may also assist when painting.
The set consists of 4 sprues of grey plastic parts plus 3 medium sized decal sheets for the shells and metal ammunition box markings and 4 x small decal sets for the marking of the wooden boxes.
Each sprue contains the parts for 2 x late war style boxes, 1 x early style steel box and 1 x wooden style box which should equal 8 x late style boxes 4 x early style boxes and 4 x wooden style boxes in the set.
You get 1 x SVDS round, 1 x AP round, 1 x APCBC-T round and 2 x HE rounds per sprue plus 4 rounds in individual sized liners.
The individual late boxes measure 22mm and 21mm. The early style boxes measure in at 20mm as does the wooden box. The longer 22mm boxes parts 7 & 8 would be for the SVDS and APCBC-T rounds. The shorter of the two steel boxes @ 21mm, parts 5 & 6 would be for the HE and AP-T rounds. The early style box is easily identifiable and the wooden ammunition boxes are not a style I'm familiar with, but I suspect would suit the US gun.
To add to the detail you get 4 small PE frets that add detail to the rounds in liners, early style box and wooden box. With a bit of thought you should be able to model the boxes open complete with rounds. The PE looks quite delicate so again a little care and patience will be needed to maximise the presentation of the set.
Once painted you get a comprehensive set of marking for the shells and boxes.
The build looks straight forward although the parts are quite small, so patience would be the key here. The parts look well molded with good crisp detail, and clean up should be minimal. There are a number of very small parts so care will be need when removing these from their fixings.
Conclusion
Once completed you should have a very nice set of ammunition to add to your display. The layout of the sprues reminds me very much of the Bronco set of 25pdr ammunition. Markings on ammunition boxes and shells make a big difference, although they will be tricky to work with.
I think the set is very well detailed and should be a very useful one for Allied modellers of the new 6pdr gun. A well detailed set of boxes and shells can become a key feature in their own right and make for an impressive display.

Greying slightly, but young at heart. I've been teaching adults off and on for most of my life. Left the services in 85 and first started modelling in about 87 for a few years. Then I had a long spell when I didn't build anything (too busy) and really just got started again during the summer of ...
Hi David,
Yes, I think they are similar to Bronco, their Universal Carrier is a complex build. Have a couple in the build pile but not started any yet.
