Originally started modeling in high school in the mid to late 1980s building whatever I could afford, which meant a ton of Monogram and Testors aircraft. Every once in a while I would be able to treat myself to a nice Tamiya armor kit or Hasegawa aircraft kit after mowing a myriad of lawns. One year I was able to afford the 1/350 Tamiya USS Enterprise. I remember it being exceptionally big, and very unsteady on the top shelf of my bookcase, ultimately leading to its demise. After high school, real life (and a 15 year stint in the Navy) intervened and took me away from the hobby. I build a bit of everything now, but I stick mainly to armor of any era and country. I still have a large number of unbuilt aircraft kits, but they are mainly for nostalgic reasons.
