I was building Off topic jet age kits at the age of 7. I remember building my first WWI kit way back in 1964-5 at the age of 8-9. Hundreds of 1/72 scale Revell and Airfix kits later my eyes started to change and I wanted to do more detail. With the advent of DML / Dragon and Eduard I sold off my 1/72 scale to a group of wargamers and started to build 1/48. At the tender age of 32 I was writing about real WWI aviation subjects and getting published in Cross & Cockade Intl and Over the Front. At 35 I became the archivist to the Lafayette Foundation. One of the larger repositories for WWI aviation artifacts in the US. We have a world class display of uniforms personal equipment documents and full and 7/8 scale replica WWI aircraft. About 150 kits, and a wall full of awards later I opened a website dedicated to the average modeler interested in building WWI aviation subjects. I also build on commission and have had several reviews published here at the Aeroscale. But I try not to take my hobby too seriously. After all I'm just another Modeler. _____________________________________________________ C&C International 20 #1 1989 “Royal Prussian Jagdstaffel Nr.36" 20 #2 1989 “Althaus!” 21 #1 1990 “Feasting on a Do-Do” 22 #2 1991 “Kest 1a - a thirty two day Tour of Duty” 23 #2 1992 “Dicta Richthofen” 24 #2 1993 “Arid Haven -Champlin Fighter Museum” 25 #2 1994 “Jasta 7 under Kobes Pt.I” 25 #3 1994 “Jasta 7 under Kobes Pt.II” 25 #4 1994 “Charge of the Yellow Ram -138 th Aero Sqdn” 26 #3 1995 “The Green Knight, Max von Mulzer” 27 #2 1996 “Kobes in FFA 11" 29 #1 1998 “To Capture the Rainbow... 94 th Showbirds” 29 #2 1998 “Sketches and Descriptions-Kobes” 30 #4 1999 “Pfalz D.XII a Workhorse in Foreign Fields” 31 #2 2000 “Photos & Combat Log of Jasta 14" 31 #2 2000 “Photos & Combat Log of Jasta 30" 32 #1 2001 “Sanctuary- Lafayette Foundation” 34 #3 2003 “Photos of Smith IV - Cockpit.” 37 #2 2006 “Billy Bones - an accounting of the 31st Aero Sqdn at Issoudon” 37 #2 2006 “Issoudon and the 3rd AIC AEF.” ____________________________________________________ Over the Front Vol. 7 #4 1992 “Kobes in Jasta 22" Vol. 9 #4 1994 “Kobes in Fosta W.” Vol.21 #3 2006 “185th Aero - A shadow in the moonlight.” Vol.22 #4 2007 "Jasta 64w . . .eight months in a field of thorns." ____________________________________________________ Model Aircraft Monthly (Now Miltary Aircraft Monthly) Vol. 1, #1 Nov. 2001 ‘Albatros D.III - Feasting on a Plastic Do-Do.’ Vol. 1, #2 Feb. 2002 ‘Albatros D.V/Va - War Horse of the Luftstreitkrafte.’ Vol. 1, #4 Apr. 2002 ‘Nieuport 17/23 - Bebe you have Grown.’ Vol. 1, #6 Jun. 2002 ‘ Sopwith Triplane-Stairway to Combat.’ Vol. 1, #9 Sep. 2002 ‘Sopwith Pup - A Pup for all Seasons.’ Vol. 1, #10 Oct. 2002 ‘Spad XIII - The Gallic Gamecok.’ Vol. 1, #11 Nov.2002 ‘Albatros C.III & VI- The German Draft Horse.’ Vol. 1, #12 Dec. 2002 ‘Fokker Dr.I - The Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing.’ Vol. 2 #1 Jan. 2003 ‘Fokker D.VII - Grooming a Thoroughbred.’ Vol. 2 #8 Aug. 2003 ‘Fokker D.VI - The Promising Underachiever.’ Vol. 2 #9 Sept.2003 ‘Sopwith F.1 Camel - Getting over the Hump.’ Vol. 2 #10 Oct. 2003 ‘Fokker E.III - The Fokker Scourge.’ Vol. 2 #11 Nov.2003 ‘Fokker D.VII pt.II A Horse of a different colour.’ Vol. 2 #12 Dec .2003 ‘Siemens Schuckert D.I - A Rose by any other name.’ Vol. 5 #4 Apr. 2006 ‘Nieuport 17 - the Super Bebe.’ Vol. 5 #5 May 2006 ‘Nieuport 11 - Bebe’s first steps.’ Vol.5 #9 Sept.2006 'Albatros D.III (OAW)- The German Arabian" ____________________________________________________ Scale Aircraft Modelling (Samnet) Vol. #8, Aug.2004 ‘Zeppelin Staaken R.VI - Projeckt Riesenflugzeug II.
