Like many of us, my father introduced me to modeling at an early age. My first "big boy" model I can remember was a B-26 Marauder. I know, a wingy thang. That didn't last long. After a few more planes, some cars, even a battleship or 2, I discovered Monogram's 1/32 scale Armor Series. I got the Sherman Calliope, read the little pamphlet by some dude named Shep, and that was it. I spent that summer trying to duplicate everything Shep did w/ that kit. Never finished of course, but that sealed my fate as a die-hard tank geek. Growing up in St. Louis, I spent the 80s looking up to not only Verlinden and Shep, but folks like Bob Letterman, who was a local legend. Once Verlinden moved to St. Louis, and VLS was in it's hay day, it seemed like I lived in the hot bed of armor modeling at the time. I even had my scratch built Autocar Tractor displayed in the VLS lobby...think I was around 13 at the time. I've had a few fits and starts with the hobby as an adult, and recently got back into it around 2012. My focus is 1/35 scale, mostly Allied, and dioramas. I’m a member of the Washington Armor Club, our local AMPS chapter. I live in Dumfries, Virginia (south of DC) with my wife and son. I work for an international consulting firm as a Creative Director for digital media and strategy.
