Tim the only thing that concerns me with this build is the plates on the rear deck, would something be applied that would prevent the vehicle defending itself if an enemy got behind it?

hi desperate times need desperate measures the plates were added so panzergrenadiers with infra red mp44's could accomponie the tank with reasonable cover in built up areas at night. i think the idea was they would be the ones stalking enemy vehicles offsetting the hindering of 360 turret traverse and not being suprised from behind. lovely panther f by the way

Thanks everyone for the great compliments and suggestions. Rob, I use Tamiya paints and some Vallejo Jacob, wasnt trying for accuacy, considering this tank wasnt actually in service., just going for fun for a change. Darren, I was thinking more street fighting in Berlin. which would need close troop support, as well as little room to turn the turret anyway..besides, by the time a tank would know the need to turn it, its probably too late anyway. James, what Baker said.

Nice work on this one Tim, it's been a while since we've seen some of your work in the OD section! Very nice execution on the rear deck steel plates, they look like you took 1:1 items and shrunk them down to scale.

hey thanks Bill. its been too long .. I havent built much armor lately, startin to kinda miss it myself..so I went to somethin meatier.. a 1/16 scale Tiger from Tamiya! as for the steel plates I used the Triangle Crafts products.

great job, tim, the rear armor plating is especially convincing; two questions 1) on that plating, what did you use for the 3d effect that looks like rust and/or vegetation? 2) not knowing that much about this particular tank, why is the turret shaped so peculiarly?
