The recent years – 2008 to 2010

Whilst the site has grown considerably, has much more funky technology and a much broader range of features and news the one thing that saddens me is the lack of individual participation that used to be around. Whether that is because we are all now too busy, visit many different sites or whatever I’m not sure but it is a subject that gets discussed here form time to time. For me the site still offers access to a valuable range of personal knowledge and skill that I don’t possess, and as a modeller that has continued to be an invaluable resource and source of inspiration.

The last few years have also seen me try and make a greater contribution to the site, this is for a number of reasons, one is to give something back for all the advice and help I’ve had and the second, which is much more selfish, was/is to promote the British and Commonwealth side of building, something which I hope adds value to the site and gives a broader range of appeal. To this end most of my modelling is devoted to that genre, not because I don’t like or appreciate the many excellent examples of other genres but because that is what interests me most.

2008 saw the addition of more new and old stuff and the reworking and stocking up of a number of the previous years builds. I was finally starting to get some kits actually finished which was a major step forward. I also started to experiment with 'water' which is an element that features in many of my plans but I still have a long way to go there.
