Turret

As mentioned in the review, there are some issues with the rivets on the turret - just as with the Italeri AB 41 kit. Italeri seem to have missed out on the slide molding technique so the rivets are grossly undersized and missing in some places. I carefully cut off all the rivets, replaced them with new ones made with a punch and die set. I used the “spit and toothpick” method to handle the rivets, a method I picked up somewhere here on Armorama. Thanks guys! The only problem with the rivets is that they have a rounded in profile. I solved this by lightly sanding the edges once they were thoroughly dry (Pic. 18).

I have replaced the barrel with plastic rod as the one provided is very hard to get right being made up of two parts. In addition, notice the barrel is not supposed to flare out on the business end. Other than that the turret went together well with only some sink marks to be filled. (Pic. 19)

Glad you like it guys. Hey Jan, this would be a good opportunity to change over to 1/35 scale, it's almost braille scale in size. Cheers! Stefan

Stefan, please! Where would be the challenge in dropping back to a scale that is equivalent to a walker or training wheels on a tricycle. If anything, I am dying to try 1/144 detailed figure painting. Cheers, Micro tread_geek
