I am an armor newbie, not very good but want to join the fun
Tamiya 1:35s Type 97 and/or Type 1. Cheers, Jim

I am planning to build the Type 97 from Tamiya as well. It looks quite good in the box although it is a kit forom 1975! Off the detail and fit might turn out to be average when the building begins.

Can't wait to get started

BTW Mike, does this campaign include the early skirmishes between the Soviets and the Japanese in the late 1930'ties?

I am thinking about a BT-7 to complement my Chi Ha. I will need to do some research to find out if the BT-7 was used, but I think it was.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. i have been under the gun with school.

Jesper-I will allow the soviet skirmishes. Sounds like a cool idea.

James- Welcome aboard! Good luck with the build. I'm happy to see some more IJA armor!

Jesper - Look forward to your build! If you need to find more IJA armor, do NOT try ebay~! Chi-Ha and early IJA Tamiyas go for crazy prices... I got the type I (self propelled gun actually) at Great models for US$11, type 47 for less than 15$, so on.... ebay has them listed between 30-40.. you have to look for the East Asia distributors and web sites for the good prices, even with the added postage costs.

Hobby Link Japan also has quite a bit of stuff for some reasonable prices, I agree with James, stay clear from ebay unless you own an oil company.
