Jay where did you get the resin deck from…nice piece.
Its mine Joe. For my ASLAV.
There are a few parts that look to be interchangeable.
The engine deck, divers hatch, C/C and Gunners hatch, exhaust (to a certain extent), AMU bases, smoke grenades launchers, turret baskets and gun sight ballistic covers.
I can post up a photo of some of the stuff if you want?
Cheers Jason

Joe your Coyote is a work of art. It may have a few minor imperfections but I think it's a stunner. The mast with all of the equipment mounted on it is jaw dropping. Especially since it was scratchbuilt in so little time. I'm still amazed it's already been to the spraybooth.

It's been a week or so since I last posted anything.
I can post up a photo of some of the stuff if you want? Jason that would be great to see them...thanks!
Russell that pic with the Port-A-Potty....
Great stuff. I have one in 1/24th scale made from resin. It sure would be an eye catcher.
Charles, Seb and Matt, thanks for the comments. Charles and Seb, it's after seeing your scratchbuilding builds is what motivates and inspires me.
Still have some work left to do, weathering, antennas and some spot painting. Also (someday) will need to change out the barrel for the fluted 25 mm barrel. As for the gear well I added in some. At first I had a few things on but after looking at it it just didn't look right...bare. So I went through so spares and added them in. The new tires come from Trumpeters new 8X8 325/85 616 XML LAV series. I actually bought a few set for past and future builds, the next is the Stryker based ELAV.
Happy Modeling,
Joe

The "yote" looks great , good work. The best that I have seen so far. Great conversion work brings a tear to a ole' yote guy. The only thing is the tarp by the trap door for the mast, ya wouldn't be able to traverse the turret.

Thanks Seb and Anthony...
Anthony there is clearance over the tarp. Looking at the pics I can see why you may think it won’t. So your an ex - Coyote...I'd like to shot you a PM with a few questions, I'm planning on a second with an interior.

Oh how many times I've been in one of these, it's good to see someone finally building one, good luck buddy
Steve,
What unit were you serving with when you were on Coyotes? What timeframe? Still serving on them? I hope you took some pictures that you can share!
Cheers,
JP

I had been posted with a armoured recon unit for two months last year. I have a few pictures if you want me to dig them up. I have interior shots, exterior shots, and shots of our base of operations. I will try to find my memory stick with them on it this afternoon.

Yes, I'd very much like to see the pics you took, and I'm sure there are others here who would also like to see pics of Coyotes in action, how they were stowed in combat, the weathering, etc.
I read somewhere that you were in the Reserve infantry, so I'm intrigued about how you came to be posted to an Armoured Recce unit for two months during operations. Quite the experience! In what crew position were you working? Also, what base were you at, and during what Roto?
Cheers

I don't know much about the Coyote Recce Vehicle - but this is one of the coolest projects I've seen in a while.

No, it can be stowed and the hatch closed.

No, but overall there aren't many markings......lots of stencils and a CFR plate and maybe a Tac sign here and there. With the add-on armour panels all of the stencils and painted on markings are covered anyways.
The CFR plates can be sourced from Archer.

Any chance you'd be bringing this out to the Buffcon 30 show?

Wow talk about bringing up the dead
....no as I don't own it any longer. I sold it like 4 years ago to a fellow in California. This guy bought many of the models I built, not sure why but I did not complain. Will you be at BuffCon this year, if so stop by the kitchen where the pizza and coffee is sold. I'll be hanging around there.
Happy Modeling,
Joe
