Hello!
I present you my recent build: LAV III.
Made from AFV stryker, RealModel conversion, Voyager photoetched and scratch.

I rebuild some RealModel parts, making themmore accurate.

I had problems with rear part too:-)

Some customized storage will be added later.
Hope you'll like it!

I used miror mounts and partualy disks for armor mounting (but I prefer punching it). Others from your kit

Really nice build Anton. Is the large winch (behind the driver) absent for some reason or is it normal feature of this version ?

Thank you, Oliver!
I've made version without winch. You can find mountings for it on upper detail.

Thank you!

It took me about half a year to build it. I have a lot of models on my workbench, so LAV wasn't my primary project.

Anton,
Why you use wheels from Storm Miniatures? In LAV set are the same.

Presented your wheels to my friend, who was building stryker. So I have nothing bad to say about your wheels. My friend liked them.

But I used your spare wheell:-)

very nice lav just for you FYI the newer upgrades to the LAV III is aluminum wheels and they dont use wheel covers on the rims but they still use the center wheel step.

Hello again!

Need your help!

What can you say about LAV III chipping? I'm going to pan my LAV sa an vehicle serving in Afganistan.

Is it reasonable to make chips on LAV? Where? What colour?

May be, you can help with photos, illustrating it?

Thanks,

Anton

With modern paint technology you don't get the chipping as depicted on WWII AFVs.....modern paint gets scratched and scuffed but not any major chipping.

There might be some well worn areas that the crew travels on regularily but nothing showing bare metal that would be seriously visible in 1/35....maybe edges of hatches and periscope cover edges.

The scuffs and scapes usually look lighter coloured.

Shameless Plug

Anton ,if you have a copy of the Lav-3 In Afghanistan from(RealModel) you will see the beasts in all the glory, covered in dust............... And yup the CARC paint wears down and does not chips that much. The only place that it would chip would be where the 25mm caseings eject next to the cannon. It would look like a half moon of little chips from around the drivers station towards the exhaust, with a grey/ blackish colour as well from the cordite from the flash suppressure.

Cheers

Anthony
