Hi,

Quoted Text

I first thought it was a real photo of a finnish forest. Good job and show us some more photos please!

Thanks Jurken

I used Google pics I found of finland forest roads as references.

WOW Really cool work, Awsome!

Thanks Martyn !

Here comes today's cab painting progress pics. I added some more details before painting (fire extinguisher supports on both sides, and an air pressure manometer in the drivers back

Tamiya's acrylics dried so fast (was hot today in France) that I was able to apply washes of raw umber oil paint few hours later...

Cheers,

Richard

Hi,

Little update tonight.

The engine bonnet and the driver cab are both glued in place.

And I worked a bit on infantry MG's

Hi,

Some news of my build.

Before the mud comes ( ) I have to end the details that really flood round that MAZ.

Though these are almost done (some flashlight and mirror stuff still missing) the paint is not done.

Here are pics of the latest stages I went through (wiring, etched brass tracks guides... etc...)

Hope you like it

Richard

Looking good so far!
I like this machine/ beast!

Hmm, the 3-tone-camo is green, white and black?

Hi Soeren,

Thanks !

The camo is light green, dark green and black, exactly the same you can see I did on my BMP-1 in page 1 :

Ahh, okay with the camo. I thought, that I saw somewhere a transport with 2 different camoflaged vehicles.

greetings...

I am waiting in earnest for you to finish the carrier. I planned on building one with a soviet vehicle, however I have way too many things on my plate now

However, watching this one makes me smile

Hi Rechard,

Your work is so great!
I personally like the vehicle BMP-1 and worked on it several years ago as a finnish version just like you.
The camo pattern looks very clean and correct. I love the camo colors you made.
I am looking forward to seeing your final result!

Cheers!

Hi,

Thank you very much for your comments

I gave the truck and trailor its basic light green coat (50/50 mix of Tamiya XF5 and X8) this afternoon.

Next is dark green layer.

This is a great blog Richard! I love the work you've done on the BMP, the camo is fantastic!

Interesting to see how you tackled pine trees as well, I deliberated over various methods when thinking about doing my diorama, it really is quite tricky to get a good looking pine tree, yours look great though and really suit the scene!

Hi,

Thank you very much Jon for your nice words.

Here is a camo update ! Some scratches to be fixed AWA all the weathering process to be done...

Have you already seen a MAZ crawling under masking tape ? No ? Well, here's what it looks like :

Ok, same one with no tape on

On the diorama base, just to check it out

Now with the BMP-1 on the flatbed. The MAZ cries for a weathering session

I hope you guys like it. Let me know

The splinter-camo looks very good!
Now we wait for the weathering.

Also I like the groundwork and the trees.

Thank you Jurjen, thank you Soeren.

Jurjen you're right, it's been intensive ! Now it's time for the step I know you're fond of : dirt, dust, rust... Hope I'll be as much inspired and succesful as you get with your models

Hi gents,

After such a long time with no update, here I come with a 95 % done project...

Among details to be added before the end are guns paint, windscreen and wipers, figs camo to be corrected, rear view mirrors....

The truck has received its washes, oil paint nuts wiped down/off, oil stains, rust, pigments...

A dio often / always bears a title... Here's mine, hopefully obvious enough to leave no doubt as regards the depicted country to people passing by :

Then the rest :

U see the difference between BMP-1 and Maz camos ?

I still hesitate, wondering if I will spray a varnish coat or not.

Hope you like it ! All comments welcome.

Cheers
