Hi Alvaro,
No problem, I'm glad it helped. Thats the part I meant for sure. It should have a small screw-hole drilled in to the side of it. This pic might help but it's rather small. I'll also add some of the one I'm building asap - but it's all at the 'dry-fit' stage at present.
There's another KT thread somewhere on this site with a few good pics and the guy building it really sounds like he knows his stuff. I'll try to link you to it.
Nice to talk to you!
Mike.

Good weather, so I could paint a bit....
First add the turret tracks, just for a moment
Add .177 pellets for better "shake" of the acrilic paint. 4 per bottle
The camo scheme are my creation, based in actual ones, anyway, receive later a white wash.... I don't care also by a small overspray
More next time... Regards,

Looking good, Alvaro!
I'll post some pics when I get a bit further down the track with mine.
You added the sleeve after all. I just realised it's pictured clearly on the back of the box. I think it's better with it on.
Cheers,
mike.

Q: I don't apply the winter cammo, as I not found the best way to do it. (I paint planes in winter cammo, as the IL2, but a tank, its different I guess).
So, looking the pics the tank don't look a lot chipped - as If I use a hair spray way, or salt. To me look plain white, - as result of the heavy snow on it?.
Any advice, before I took the way......will be apreciated.
Regards, Alvaro ....to paint or not to paint.....

Hi all, well this week end I just test the method.
Hair spray = L'Oreal normal fix
Test subject = Airfix Spit XXIV
Paint = Tamiya flat white, diluted with tap water.
Tools = Toothbrush, scriber, toothpicks, brushes and "metal brush" (see pic)
Right side of the plane, ONE coat of spray.
Left side, 2 coats between 15 secs.
After 10 - 15 min of drying time I apply the white camo, after another 15' I add water and start to scrub with the brush, after the toothbrush and the scriber (nice to horizontal and "casual" marks!). In both sides, the pait was applied more translucent aft of the canopy.
Pics:
Side with 2 coats
Works to me

Hi Alvaro!
That looks pretty good - I may have to suss this hairdryer method out as I'm going to do 'Anneleise' also - eventually! I still have not had time to work on her much so it's not primed yet. I'm looking forward to seeing how yours turns out.
I been busy with a different sort of painting, I'm afraid - it's what I do for a 'living': If you want a peek cut and paste the link below.

Cheers and good luck - it's looking good so far!!

Hi Michael, well sometimes we need to work too...............Sadly here at work I can't see your pics, but I will check later.
Well, I add a pre-chipping over the camo and later the white paint. Following the spray tech, I don't reach the same results than with the airplane
So, I use a fine brush with our local "Windex", and also use my Aztek load with water . I use it as a "water-blast" to paint-off some areas.
Tell me if you found it overdone. Actual pics don't show "heavy" weathering....but....
I apply more white over the aft deck, as I think that I overdone the effect

Hi Alvaro,
I think that overhead shot of the aft deck looks pretty good! Like people have been walking over it.........and the turret top at the right looks nicely scuffed too. I wonder if the zimmerit texture messes up the process a bit? As it's such a rough surface? Keep going.........I'll let you know when I come to do it...........then you'll see a mess!!

Hi Michael. I retouch those areas with paint, now waiting for redone the scratches.
I think that you don't any mess
I will scratch a bit - modify really - the scratch in the front part of the roof. Are a bit "identical" each one. Also I need to apply future for the decals - 314 and name. Later, add more camo to this areas, closer to the numbers.

Looking good the whitewash. But you do realize though that the Anneliese didn't have a whitewash. It was painted pure white. It was damaged in France and sent back to Germany for repairs where they painted it pure white and put it back into action in Hungary. I made the same mistake. But I wouldn't worry about it. So far it's looking great. Keep up the great work.

I don't know about the pure white Daniel, I think that the white paint was a "common" distemper one. Anyway, I you said, I don't care a lot about.
Thanks for your comments of my work and the data. But keep it between us....the judges are looking around.....
Hope this week I could end it.

I doubt very much that it had anything but a whitewash coat, all be it very well done.
On application it would have been understood that at some point in the near future with the changing weather conditions that this white finish would need to be removed, so applying a durable paint finish such as the original base colour would not have been embarked upon.
They would have applied something easily removable in the field by the crew. i.e. whitewash removable with some water and scrubbing brushes/brooms. You only have to look at the two images at the beginning of this build blog posted by Alvaro to see the evidence, and that's taking into account the high contrast from a black and white photograph.
I think the coating as depicted is fine

Hi Daniel. Thanks for that comment about the solid white paint. You cleared up a mystery for me. I have seen some video footage and some still photos of what were certainly solid white German tanks and I always wondered about it. I believe there's a video of a tank on YouTube where what appears to be a white Pz Kpfw IV is also in the background.
Alvaro- Magnificent!
