Finally updating my build progress. Nothing like a Dragon kit with a bunch of seperate projects! The TC hatch has 12 parts alone. For those of you building the M1A2 SEP kit make sure you position X24 to X33 with the blank spot forward. I didn't notice it until 3 days later! You can just barely make out the blank area to the rear. This is for the .50 cal mount.

This photo shows the Legends side armor panels. Some great detail, they were warped so I had to heat them up with the boiling water trick. Worked great! You can also see my 125mm gun with working recoil and metal barrel that comes with the kit. Plus the top turret and the Legends cap where the CITV used to be.
Good old Ma Duece. Some great photo etch as well as the detail of the top lid of the .50. I chose to leave it open so that the detail may be shown.

It was pointed out to me that the CITV can stay in place. So tonight it wil be razor saw vs. resin cast. That is what I get for getting all excited and not checking the excellent reference source that I have

This is my first post so I hope the photo works?,
The kit is going to be "Thunderbolt" the first Abrams.
Any info on the colour?
I have started this kit by using DML road wheels, Trumpeter rear drive sprocket, DML turret details, Later Tamiya kit parts such as the exhaust and MG's will be used.
Would anybody have the Armortrak T-156 track instructions?
Here is the turret modification so far, I am correcting to blow panels to match the M1 drawings in Hunnicut's book and the cupola will be replaced with one from a DML kit (M1A1). I am also using the rear of hull from the later Tamiya kit.
Hunnicuts book also states that "Thunderbolt" was a XM1?, Every other reference states it was a first production M1.
any thoughts on this?

Sweet build. Nothing like a quick and easy build and then move on to something else.

Hi all, just enlisted in this campaign. My first group build, just so happens that I am drowning in Abrams right now. On the bench are 5 Abrams, one on the way. I'm a junkie I'll admit.
So I think for the campaign I'll do my 1/72 Dragon M1A2 OOB. For those of you who don't know, it's really quite detailed, esp. compared to my other 1/72 Abrams, an older Italeri M1 kit. The markings for the Dragon are for the same tank as in the 1/35 Italeri M1A2, 194th brigade, TF 1-70, C22, at the NTC.
So for the campaign do we need to post in-progress pics or do we just need finished pics?
Thanks everyone!

Scott, The Abrams is looking good.
I broke a piece of my kit. It pretty much took the wind out of my sails. Hopefully, the Holidays will give me motivation again.

right then, got the m1a1 kit. as it has 6 decal options for 1-4 cav, I think that will be the easiest choice to form a platoon or something like that. anybody wants to team up?

My entry is almost complete, pics may be up on boxing day (before stowage). Have to wait to finish because I need some stowage

Scott,
Is it the light in the pictures or do the tailights need some paint?
Looks good and at least you're done!
