Oh thank God for that I hated putting those clamps on in the first place the way it was shown. I'd much rather fold 'em up. Thanks and I'll see what I can do as I began putting my suspension piece onto the lower hull got 2 done and realized my tires weren't on and they couldn't be put on with them in place. So I had to bend one and the other one wasn't so lucky it broke and I have to sand some glue off and re-glue it on. Other than that I'm trying to get my commanders hatch done and we'll see how she turns out.

Jay, don't sweat it
The sighting vane should be rotated horizontally, thus staying in the upright 'U' shape.
The barrel clamp is actually the one about dead-centre of the turret top standing vertically (between the hatches)

So, my finished Shermie...

Hey Dani
This is an interesting piece. What scale is it? I know it carries the same markings as the Tamiya 105mm M4A3, but seems to lack the detail a bit. The stowage has come up well...

Ok, I've went to google the image on the clamp you were talking about and I've seen how they have it I'll work on getting that done. Thanks for everything and I'll get a lot of the rough patches sewn up and get things in their right places. Anyone know where I can get a small thing of turpentine as well?

Great work guys !

Lots of posts - the hits on this Campaign have gone ballistic !!

133 enlistees also !! Well done team !

@ Chris - thanks for the link on Buckles and straps - very useful !

@ Tony - those details !! They are amazing ! Great work mate, your attention to detail is superb !! The rods, the shells, LOVE IT mate !! It is a lovely build !

@ Graham - the weathering on your Shermie really brings those Camo colors together - nice work !! A Great project done and dusted
Now your next one will be nice to follow - this one won't need those cheeky Camo colors will it ? Plain SCC 15 Olive Drab ?

@ Richard - thanks for posting all of those progress pics, the Camo and chipping The Decals really look the part too ...

@ Dani - what scale is your build ? The Camo is first class, how did you do it ?

@ Jay - nice work mate, ! Keep asking questions and use all of the feedback to improve your skills !

@ Brad - thanks for contributing with your valued suggestions and comments. Your expertise is VERY much appreciated by all here

@ Leo - lovely work ! The doodles are fantastic !!

As far as my Oddball Shermie goes, I've added brass "bogie bolts" (thanks Richard), PE sand shield strips, the Formations tail lights. and hull hatches.

Next will be the Turret bits that are missing !

Pics soon

Cheers

This Campaign is amazing! It's almost impossible to keep track of all the builds! So I'll just say, great work everyone!

My Shermie is on hold for the moment while I'm working on my 1/48 scale campaign entry. The basics are done, next to do are the tracks and all the detail work. But we still have a little time, right?

Cheers everyone!

All right I have the problem with my commanders hatch hinge dealt with. Found out what stretched sprue was and didn't think this turned out bad for my first actual use of it. Of course I had some trial and error so this is how it turned out.

Yes I know that it is elevated and need to turpentine it to lower it so it's flush so to speak. It also looks larger in this picture than it actually is but this is the best picture I could pull of with my g/f's garbage that she calls a camera. So enjoy my sprue stretching experience haha.

Wow !

I think this Campaign is a record in terms of 'hits' already, and we just about have a record of participants ! Another 20 or so will do it

@ Keith - that is a bad boy ! Did you do the base for this Campaign as well ?

@ Tony - as I've mentioned already, awesome detail, and attention to getting 'it all right' !

@ Rick - the weathering brings you Shermie together sooo well ! Excellent work and the camo has blended perfectly !

Cheers and keep up the great work team !

More participants are most welcome !!!

Looking good Graham...
I have yet to build a Brit/comm. Sherman, but this one looks a good'n.
Don't forget the cap inside under the turret rear, and tackle the seams on the idler wheels!

Hey Brad thanks mate , bugga forgot that cap LOL was looking at it just now while i thro the first coat of color on, yeh them wheels suck there in two bits unlike the one the first Sherman , theres two sets ones without the solid centres and these ones ya to make up, theres also a crap load of fiddly pe i cant even hardly see the stuff little own try and put it on
the kiwi decals i have are for mkIII but we did get firefly1C around 44 so i'll just say they did it up the same which they could well have done anyway shes called Queen of beauty from the 19th armoured reg 4th brigade i think it is.
cheers,
Graham

Keith, nice looking Calliope. I will be building this kit as well.
How have yyou done the wiring for the tubes? Is the sandbagged hull home made or a conversion?
Sorry if you already posted this info, then I must have missed it in the 43 campaign pages so far.

Tony, very nice build. Great details on the tools and tie downs.

Richard, love the subtle chipping of the paint and the dusty feel of the Sherman.

Looking forward to see more.
