I think that Taras' manual is made up of drawings and descriptions that come directly from the original Russian manual, with the different polish nomenclature (like the "U" for example).

Ciro!
Amazing work as always! I really admire your patience and focus on the project!
Whats that interesting vehicle you showed us? The one with the "little" turret on T-55 chassis?
All the best,
Andreas

Hey Andreas,thank you!
the name of that tank is T-55C "Favorit"...it's a training version of the 55.It's used to learn(teach) how to drive the tank.
I've very few images of the thing and few infos.
I know that there's a walkaround of this beast on WWP T-55 special and recovery vehicles and some photos on the net.
The little turret comes from CMK and it's cheap and a really nice kit.
I also know that Skif does a dedicated kit for this tank.(can I call it tank?!)
It fits to tamiya donor kit but I also think that with some modification you can use it with other T-55 kits.
If you need photos....as I've said I've few of them but I'm happy to share them with you, just let me know.
Regards
Ciro

Hey!
Sounds very interesting, thanks for the explenation. Should make a great beast once finished.
Sorry for hijacking your thread, but just to answer your question:
I´m unfortunately working on too much projects at the same time
Yesterday I painted a 3-tone camouflage on my T-62 with slat armor (Osetia 2008) I will post pics soon, maybe next weekend? I haven´t made any progress on the T-72 since my alst post. And my SA-8 from tankmania is close to be finished......It will be a Belarusian one. Base is missing though. I plan to finish some work this year.
All the best,
Andreas

Hi all!
I've done some progress,I've added bolts and weld lines around the engine deck,a box for the turret and some other things here and there, probably they aren't so important for the overall look but for who loves this beast they are a nice details
I hope you like it and I'm always open to suggestions or comments.
Regards
Ciro

Ciao Ciro
I for one love all the added details you are putting into this model. The effort is well worth it, and this is going to be one fantastic looking model when done.

Ciro, sorry fot the off topic, but i'd ask you a technique question (which is a pain in the neck for me)
What are you going to use as first coat on your model?
Do you use primers or common paints? (enamel or Acrylic?)
If you're going to use a primer how are you going to do?
Are you going to spray it straight from the can or you prefer to use the airbrush?
I'm always worried about the "primer step". I'm afraid of "details drowning" that you risk using the spray can.
About ten years ago I used to do aircraft models. In that time I used an automotive primer (Tamyia primer wasn't sell in Italy). It worked well enough , but ten years ago the kits were less crisp than nowadays, so the hazard of a thicker enamel coat, was not a huge problem.
Today the kits are instead full of thin details. A thick coat could be a disaster
What the best thing which i should do to avoid problems?
Thanks in advance for your reply and sorry again for the off topic

Hi Mauro,
well good question...
I've used tamiya primer(the white one)in the past,it's a good product, you can use it from the can without problem...It's good also to have a standard and uniform layer,it also helps tamiya acrylics for the paintjob.
When I do models that have more details like this I don't use primer.
The first reason is that the application mode(by rattle can) can mask all the little details.Thickness of the layers from the rattlecan is not the same on the whole model and so it's not uniform.
I use 2 or 3 thin coats of medium grey(tamiya).I do this also during the build process,as you can see...this allow me to control the various areas and this process also allow me "to see" the little imperfections here and there on the model.
The layer at least cover all the model and it's a good base for the paint job(I remember you that I use Tamiya acrylics or Vallejo).I haven't had problem with this method up to now.If you need a better explanation let me know via mail ;-)

So the tamyia paint grips on plastic surfaces?

Very nice "little step" Ciro
I'd like to know a silly question
Why did you paint in red the engine heads? Did you do to avoid a finishing "rusty effect" ?
cheers

Hey Mauro,
I've painted the heads cause one of the two was damaged during the clean-up(cmk set) and both lost their little base...that is a little lip at the bottom of the head.I've repaired the damage and added again the lips.
I've painted them to see errors or imperfections...
It will be a weathered tank but not a wrecked one so engine and motor compartment will be not rusted.
Generally I've note that the heads are red(as a base color)so.......

It's,like the other one,a polish built T-55 turret but in this version without the AA MG.
Comments are always appreciate.

Are you going to do TWO t55s aren't you?
Perhaps I didn't understand well.
I believd that you're going to do just one of them
