Anybody have an idea what the T-62 DSHKA mount looks like? I want to add Miniarm's Dshka to my model 1962 but I can't find a picture of the AA mount? Does the Miniarm kit come with one?

Thanks!

Hi. I've seen t62a`s in Osetia with bar armour. Is that the same tank as the trumpeter
T62 (1972). If so has any one got pics of it or can help me in any way thanx.

T-62 m62's NEVER had a AAMG mount. Neither did the m67's. Only the m72's had the AAMG mount. Lot of arguments about it, but no photos.

Jacques,

Like I said, I'd love to add the miniarm DSHKA to my model 1962, but I can't find a good photo. Does anyone know if that Miniarm DSHKA has an AA mount with the kit?

Thanks,

Bill

Here's the Miniarm gun

Or are you looking for the the actual mount for the gunners hatch? You're going to need one since the mod 62 kit doesn't come with the hatch needed to mount an AA MG since, as Jacques said, the mod 62 never had an MG.

Erik,

Roger, I understand all that...model differences etc. I just wanted to add the gun to my Model 62 as a field modification or upgrade.

Pictures of the mount to attempt a scratch build are hard to find. Is the mount available anywhere? If not got a good picture for a scratchbuild attempt??

Where are you in Ohio? I'm originally from Youngstown...late of Oahu.

Many Thanks,

Bill

If you are just looking for a way to put a AAMG on it, either get the correct parts from another kit for the loaders hatch and mount, they should fit, or else make a field mod, which would just be a hollow steel pipe welded to the turret and the AAMG mounted on that...similar to how the AAMG is mounted on the T-80U.

I have a question regarding tracks. I know at some point the T-62 started using the T-72 style track and sprocket, but I haven't been able to find and good info as to when or how. Was it used on new built tanks? Refitted? And when did this start happening? I know I have seen at least 1 pic of a Syrian T-62mod72 in Lebanon with the RMSh tracks, so they were on some tanks in 1982. Any more info would be much appreciated.

They started being fitted to new mod. 72 T-62's. As tanks were taken in for maintenance they were also upgraded with those tracks from that point forward.

Hi. I recently bought Trumpeter's new T-62 Model 1975 w/ KMT-6 mine plow. I was searched for reference photos of it, and turned up not much, mostly just photos of the kit box art. I was wondering is it just a Model 62 with a laser range finder on it?

Yes. The T-62 m62/75 is a updated m62 with the added LRF. There are some other changes, but they are interior.

A few questions on the SP Designs T-62 1967 turret. How is it? Does it also include the turret ring? thanks.I am interested in getting one as it looks more accurate than the Trumpeter 1962 turret.Did they also put that turret in their T-62 1960 kit? Thanks.

SP Designs kit 234 (T-62 m67)has a one piece turret with the turret ring under. It does improve the kit, pieces are pressure cast.

I have not seen the trumpeter T-62 m60 kit yet, do not know about the turret (though I suspect it is the same turret as in the m62 and m67 kits).

Does anyone know the purpose of the fitting there on the left side, under the log brackets? The hex bolt there on the sprocket bulge, is it a filler port for oil or is it a tensioner for the sprocket?
I have seen excerpts from the maintenance manual, but cant make heads or tails of the Cyrillic.

Isn't it the lower part of the unditching log bracket? Or am I looking at the wrong thing?

Robert,
I think so yes. The unditching beam has two parts to the bracket, under that on the sprocket bulge, about even with the top of the tow hook, but under the (missing ) spring clip.

Ah, sorry. Must have missed most of the original post. Since the axis of the sprocket is fixed by the need for the final drive to be in line with the axle (track tension is adjusted at the idler with a much chunkier fitting than that bolt), that must be the oil filler for the final drive.
