Hey Bill, great job with that Sufa! Nice and cleanly done! May I ask what paint colours you used for the three-color camo? I am still working on my Kfir...thanks to quite alot of fitting issue, its going to take awhile before I reach the painting stage. However I intend to use tamiya's Buff (xf-57) and Earth (xf-52) for the sand and brown camo colors. I have not decided on the light green yet...will appreciate your input!

If you're doing a Kfir C-7 in the late camo Tamiya's Sky should be a good match for the light green, I believe.

I'm a big fan of Testors Model Master paints going back to when they 1st came out nearly 45 years ago. Their Military lines use FS numbers so you don't have to guess at mixing your own colors, or trying to match Tamiya's paints for the close enough look.
Of course one companies FS colors aren't always the same as another companies, which always mystified me, as they're supposed to be mixing their paints to a standard color chip.

Shalom everybody,
I‘m going to build a F-4 Phantom II. The IAF nicknamed it Kurnas, which means sledgehammer - a perfect name for this brute aircraft.
The Italeri kit is straightforward - no frills, compared to Hasegawa. As current prices for Hasegawa kits are just ridiculous and I have the kit in my stash for years now, it's an easy decision...
Cheers

Welcome aboard David and Tom I am looking forward to your builds we seem to have a lot of flying things for this campaign, we will need to get some more of the unusual IDF armour going on .
I still do not have anything for this campaign I know I know I need to get a move on ! I have just seen some of black dogs new 1/72 conversions for the M113 and I am very tempted to try them out, I have also found a couple of Humvee conversions from CMK and Model trans in 1/72 that could be good builds?

My CyberHobby Super Sherman arrived the other day, so I will begin shortly after the holiday.
Can anyone tell me if the DS tracks are the correct length? The kit has three lengths of DS track and those marvelous DML instructions appear to indicate some sort of splicing/adding/ who knows what.

Hi Wayne
I think you will find that because the m50 is based on the A4 hull which is longer than a standard sherman hull, Dragons track would to short therefore they have included an extra track for you to cut and extend the other to.
How long this extension piece needs to be iam not sure guess trial and error comes into it.
regards
Peter

Peter, I thank you so very much.
I was not aware this was based on the extended chassis. I'm no stranger to "trial and error", that's been my entire life as it were, so no worries there.
Again, thank you Sir!

Hi,
I worked on the cockpit at the weekend. There are not too many details OTB - so, some masking and drybrushing has to do the job.
@Peter: Thanks for your comment. Yeah, the Phantom is somewhat an incarnation of pure power. The kit contains only additional fuel tanks and missiles. But I‘ve to think about a fully bombed up one.
Cheers

Finally finished up my DML M7 Priest for the Strictly OOB campaign. So I'm finally ready to start my DML M51 Isherman for this campaign. Here's a picture of the box and all the trees still in their plastic sleeves.

Hi
My M3 armoured car is all primered up just ready for painting, not sure to go with an British olive drab type colour or a British stoney brown colour.
The typical Israeli sand grey didnt come in until much later and a lot of the paint supplies were left over from the British army or RAF.
Joel
What era m51 are you planning on doing, if iam not mistaken the dragon m51 is a late one with the exhaust mounted on top of the engine deck.
regards

Peter, I was planning on doing an one from the 1967 6 day Yom Kippur war. Started doing some basic research today. Will have plenty of time to sort things out ( I hope), as I'm starting with the rather complex suspension 1st.

Well, I've gotten started on my 1/32 Tamiya Mustang. Spent the last two days pre-painting. I'm pretty much sticking to the kit painting instructions except I'm limiting interior green to the cockpit and doing the engine compartment, landing gear bays and gun bays in zinc -chromate yellow (Tamiya yellow-green) as I think that's more appropriate. I'm again using Floquil's Bright Silver for bare metal where called for and will use it for the finish. This one will be out of the box except (of course) for the decals. Fun so far, but a LOT of pre-painting with all those details!
I'll take some pics when there's something worth having a picture of short of painted parts on sprues.
Michael

Hi,
The airframe is almost completed now.
As I lost sight of some other campaigns ending this year, I‘ll take a break for this build.
Cheers

This is a complicated kit, but it's nice to get a start!

I love that Jeep!
Ok, I stayed home today due to a very wookie stomach, but got started on my M50 Sherman.
Here's the starting pic.
I like to work all over the instructions, so I started with the turret. The fit was a bit problematic so I had to eliminate some seams. I used glue and a short bristled brush plus some thinned putty. That in turn eliminated the molded in weld detail. I replaced that with stretched sprue.
References revealed the weld seams were fairly prominent but not overly so. I think this will look good under primer and paint.

I accomplished a bit more this morning.
I molded the lifting lugs to the turret.
And I finished the smoke mortars.
I'll mount these last as they would be easily knocked off. I'm clumsy that way.
Here's the start of the hull detail.
