Well being a Canadian born American I wanted to build something from the Canadian Armed Forces, after looking around for some time I came across a pic of the LAV Bison, I really like the way it looks and there seems to be endless possiblities on how one can be built. So I started with the Trumpeter LAV-R as the base for my Bison, I know I could have used the ASLAV but hey I got it on ebay for 10 bucks! Anyway I will post pics as I go. If anybody has reference photos I could really use them especially if they're the C3I version.
Thanks DJ

Hey Rick,
Why do the wheels and bolt pattern look like those used on USMC LAVs? The rear wheels look like they dont have the center hub?

Thank you Anthony, I am still trying to gather info on this vehicle. I am using the Trumpeter LAV-R so right now I'm in the process of modifing to hull filling in mounting holes where the amphibous gear once was. The commanders cupola has been modified and the hull has been cut to accept the new hull which I will start building tonight. I hope to have pics posted soon.

I've got some photos as well, were you looking at a recent one (stowage bins where the marine drive used to be), or an older one with the marine drive-I've got both.
The rear wheels on the one in Rick's photo look like SLEP rims (lots of bolts), the hub is barely visible through the dust; and the front ones have the newer hub cover on, which I don't think has been done by anyone yet.

Like Jim said these are the new bolt together rims, the reason that it looks like there is no hubs is because the rims have to be spaced outwards to make space for the add on armour under the sponsoons. This makes athe rims sit flush wi the hubs. This is not required for the front , but they have the new step/covers installed.

It would be nice if some did reproduce the new style rims with and without hub covers...

I got a question Rick,

Would the photo etch from the Real Model coyote uparmour kit work for the Bison? I know I wouldn't need anything from the turret, but I'm pretty sure the lower and frontal armour would work so would the mirrors and pioneering tool rack, anything else? I already know I'll have to scratch the remaining armour. Let me know.
Thanks DJ

That and the engine grills. You would have a bunch left over for the spares bin LOL.

Nice work, thanks for the update.

Are you going to add the up-armour or leave it as a domestic example?
