thanks Karl and Matt
this is about the level of my skill, whether i spend 4 days or 4 months on a kit. it seems that whenever i try a new technique I make a mess of it, so this is as good as it gets for a while. at least untill i learn a little more patience.
I am happy to be a middle of the road modeller. I am not going to be winning any contests, but it doesn't look like a 4 year old built it either. and I am having fun churning out all of these kits, it's good for the soul.
John:
I have way too many partially built kits. and over 1000 in the stash alone. I need to build stuff at this pace.
as for whats next? if it is a mainstream kit I probably have a copy of one (or 2 copies) so name it and I'll consider it.

Well Dylan at the moment I'm in a "shrinking stash Mode", so I understand the need of "3 day builds".
Modern or WWII ?
I would recommend any Tamyia kit for a 3 day build, how about a StugIII B from Tamiya ? A Panther F from Dragon or a BTR 8x8 ...

Nice. I have done a couple of weekend builds in my time and Tamiya kits are the best for them. Like you I just try to do the build and basic paint in the time period as I don't wish to ruin the finish by rushing the weathering process. Again great job.

excellent work on your T-72 Dylan, the weathering looks great! The tracks really look great too.

Well, I think I'm not so insane.....At least I hope so
Dylan is very skill at painting so in any case in my opinion he can build straight from the box and he'll obtain excellent results

Jeff:
the tube on the turret is a snorkel that attaches to the gunners hatch for wading through water.
Matt:
leave poor Mauro alone, I dont think his heart can take too much more
John:
I have already built all of those what else ya got

Well Dylan, I'm currently building a T-62 & a SturmTiger, one from Trumpeter and the other from AFVClub, want to join the build wagon ?
A Stryker maybe ? A Marder Madness build ? The Valentine Farewell Tour from Miniart Rock Band ?
Faun Transporter with a Pz2000 .. for a weekbuild eheh... not 3 days..
BMP fashion show (3 variants / 3 countries scheme), a 234's display (12 days / 4 Dragon versions)
I'm running out of ideas here...mmmhh pick 4 boxes from your stash.
1 box a week, all OOB.
I'll have to start getting some bench time for my DAK Campaign, a Miniart Dingo, feel free to get that one from your stash and we might do a double build posting our daily progress...

well I've been rummaging around in the stash looking for something to build next. and I came across this one that is almost ready for paint. I started it a few months ago and i had to put it on hold while i waited for the decals to arrive.
I'll see if i cant get it to look something like this
my next days off are booked, as i am taking my girlfriend and her daughter to the abbotsford airshow. but the week after that should be all mine

Interesting project idea Dylan, the paint scheme is quite nice. I once saw a similar pattern done on a Hetzer using a pair of fishnet stockings!!

Last November I attended an IPMS show where a gent replicated that very tank. His work was superb. He commented it took three nights to hand paint the green pattern over the light stone base color.
Good Luck!

Dylan thanks for the links, I really liked the dusted Stryker , on the T-62 what did you use to paint the rubber tires on the wheels ?
A few years ago I did the Tamyia Sturmtiger but added some metal ammo since it had an interior, what a waste of money... the hatches were so small it didn't really mattered, anyway the AFV has a really detailed gun, it has a thin metal sheet for the interior of the barrel, I can't see much difference on the detailed resin gun.
I was considering the same upgraded part too but instead I got an ATAK Zimmerit set, which I'm really happy to use.
Finishing other shelved projects is a good idea !!
To get back on track I used a couple of Campaigns that fitted my stash and managed to finish some of them..
That camo scheme will be nice to try !!
Hope to see that one painted !

How about some more Russian subjects, considering this is the Dark Side, where no one ventures, maybe a BT-7, T-34, T-34/85, OOB builds, would deffo breath some much needed life to the Russian side.
And Spider could be your umpire to make sure no one's cheating

actually I wouldn't be able to be the "umpire" for anyone including me
But if you need reference pics of russian tanks let me know, i'll be very glad to add your strolls on the darker side
