Never thought of drybrushing I might try it out on the JS II I tested the hairspray technique on before commiting on the KV.

@ DJ Thanks DJ I'll be building a Sherman in the Ardennes for the Duel Campaign so I might try it on that too

Pat I really like the look from above as it looks right to me. the sides however should be more of a faded look with minor scratches to mey mind.

Pat- this is looking better now with some nice grime on it!
In adding to what Darren said though, if the whitewash was as chipped as it is it would suggest a fair deal of use of the tank and I reckon, in winter weather, the white would be much more faded than it is- on some parts it is (to my eye) just too clean and white looking. Hope this helps a bit mate, keep going with it!

By the way, areyou planning on setting it in some sort of dio with those figures?

Karl I agree that's why I want to put more white back in possibly as you suggested - drybrushing it

I will include the figures with the tank I haven't decided on the final placement yet.

Never got around to adding the figures but I think it looks better on it's own with a light fall of snow

I have to agree with you Pat about the way you have finished this- on that base/plinth it really does look good without figures. How did you do the awesome base?

The plinth itself is just made from plastic card. The Relief sculpture is based on a Soviet Poster. Each level was cut from plastic card using a jewellers saw and laminated together.

I'm glad to see that someone else has had a problem with the tracks on the Trumpeter KV2.

Either one link too long, or one link too short.Not done many of this type of track before, I usually take the easy way out and use the rubber tracks.

But don't let this put anyone off this cracking kit.
