I've made the ribs. They haven't glued on the hull yet and they need some other little adjustments, but I think I've finished them
It was quite a nightmare but after several attempts (and lots of fits of rage...) finally I did them using a thin metal foil
Now I think I'm about to close the hull
cheers

That must have taken some patience Mauro! I think you've nailed the look of the ribs though- nice work!

...well guys...I wasn't completely satisfied with my results. The "y shaped" part didn't convice me at all. So...I've decided to rebuild (AGAIN!!) the ribs
I know. Probably I'm fool. For sure i'm too stubborn
Anyway, thanks for the kind comments, i'll posted the new ribs soon (I'd like to complete the hull by Sunday)
And of course I'm going to reproduce also the bolt heads on them...at least the bigger ones
Cheers

Whole your build is breathtaking! I wish I could build like that some day!
Cheers

Thanks for the comments guys!
Well if you look at the actual part you can notice that the "Y shaped" part has a sharp edge on the top...
I wasn't be able to make that edge
Since i've found a method to reproduce the ribs (finding a method has been the most difficult thing of the entire process) , I want to try to reproduce them in a better way
I know, Maybe I've been getting crazy recently
Thanks and welcome Jaroslaw, if you need reference pics let me know
cheers

Aaa now I see! Wouldn't it be possible to only add the Y part on top without redoing all of the ribs?
Thanks for offer

...well Jaroslaw...it's too late
However I can make them again, I don't have any problem to do it

...well NOW i'm quite satisfied I still have to cut a thin slice from them but I think now they look better than before
Ribs are made in two halves. I'll have to be very careful when I glue them on the hull
Next step...the bolt heads
Cheers

Well this is my final result. I've added two other ribs on the upper edges and I glued the bolt heads.
I really like using metal foil to make details. I was thinking to scratch build an entire model with it...for exemple I could use it to make one of my "incredibly long lasting projects"...
Anyway. Now I can tackle the next challenging detail which, of course, Skif kit depicts quite badly...
Karl, thanks a lot to follow and comment all my progresses
Walter your positive comment really does mean a lot to me. I still remember your outstanding UN T-72
Cheers guys

Thanks Dave. You're too kind indeed. I think i've been getting improved a bit since I've taken up again the hobby, but I'm really far to be a master.I wish I was but I think I'm not. I really regret to have had a 10 years hiatus. If i wouldn't have never stopped , I had probably achieved better results and I had had the possibility to complete lots of projects.
Anyway, that's life
Thank you
Cheers

Abarth version of BMD1
Do you know what Pit?...I know it could sound quite strange indeed, but I like the BMD because its shapes reminds me the "Lancia Stratos"...
...one of my favorite italian car ever
That's an Iraqi BMD...Great pic, thanks a lot!...and if you need references about the BMD interiors, let me know
Cheers

Ahhh the Stratos...what a car- in Alitalia markings it just looks perfect:
It doesn't sound strange to me Mauro that the look of the Lancia reminds me of the BMD...its weird but there is a resemblence !

Which is another of my favorite cars ever!
Stratos and Miura were both designed by Marcello Gandini one of the greatest Italian car designer... (so it must be true..."Italians do it better ")
Anyway, sorry for the off topic. I'll post BMD progresses soon
