Us going to be an outstanding job, I'll follo for sure

And me too, I think you should sell the master.

It would be an incredibly plastic or resin kit in my opinion

Ciro and Mauro I'll look into casting them up, and thinking about it there maybe a problem casting the louvers. That's where photo etch come to play.

Thanks Sean and Damian

Yeah Rob your photo were more than helpful, again thanks!!!

Outstanding Joe, very very well done. Will you be tackling the slat armor and ground penetrating radar?

Moving along, I did some more work to the main body.

Here is the upper roof section where the driver/operator enter into the Husky through to panel doors.

I’m not quite what these light are for but I do have an idea. I think they work when the Husky is in operation during X-raying.

It’s starting to get a bit messy…

This is the air canister and filter.

Louvers, louvers and more louvers…finally I done with louvers.

There’s not much more to do to the main body, next I’ll start on the tube structure chassis, fenders and so on. More to come later.

Happy Modeling,
Joe

Thanks Steve and yes I'll be adding both. Found some nice bar armor reference photos.

I always watch your work in awe... looks absolutely great!

How possible would it be for a company like Hobbyboss, for example, to buy a master like this to make it into a kit.. or do these big manufacturers not work like that? I just think it would be a shame for something like this not not to become a kit.

Will continue to watch in amazement

Hi Joe

Your work is simply amazing. I saw these on telly just the past couple of evenings with the US convoys pulling out of Iraq. Wierd looking pieces of kit.

I presume they are tasked to IEOD units to get up close and personal to improvised explosives, examine them remotely, and then assist in their deactivation and disposal?

Looking forward to seeing how this progresses.

These are used by RCP (Route Clearance Patrol) teams in concert with other C-IED measures. They may have an EOD team attached but they might not. Basics are this, RCP finds the bomb, EOD comes out and blows it.

We used to joke with our RCP guys that they did route clearance with their tires.

Just saw that I had a brain fart, to clarify RCP stands for Route Clearance Package, not patrol, my bad.

I will never forget at the end of the class I took on how to operate the Husky series of vehicles, our lead instructor telling us in no uncertain terms to turn in our M-4 and draw an M-9 pistol on every mission. His rational? Ya cant pull the M-4 up far enough to take care of business if you roll it over into a ditch filled with water...... I never wanted to fail a class so bad in my life after those words!

Small update. I took some time off from this project to start and finish a few others. I hope to have this finished before the end of February

Here are the fenders, what a pain.

Next up are the shock mounts, leaf springs and axles. I also made the conscious decision to thicken the three windows and frames.

Happy Modeling,
Joe

Excellent progress. How did you build the fenders consistently? Against a solid form or over a drawing?
